Job Description

The Role

Are you a data-driven analyst with a passion for environmental performance, asset strategy, and sustainable outcomes? Do you enjoy turning complex data into meaningful insights that influence investment decisions and regulatory performance?

We're looking for a Environmental Business Analyst to join our team and play a key role in shaping the future of wastewater services. This is an exciting opportunity to influence strategic decision-making, support environmental improvements, and help deliver exceptional outcomes for customers and the environment throughout AMP8 and beyond.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Environmental Business Analyst, you'll be at the heart of our wastewater strategy and performance planning activities. Working with stakeholders across Wastewater, Asset Management, and Bioresources, you'll provide the analysis, insights, and technical expertise needed to drive effective investment decisions and deliver regulatory commitments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the development, maintenance, communication, and implementation of Wastewater Network Plus strategies.
  • Contributing to the successful delivery of the PR24 Business Plan across wastewater services.
  • Analysing complex operational and performance data to inform strategic planning and investment decisions.
  • Supporting the technical centre of excellence across Wastewater, including the use of risk and benefit-based investment tools such as myRisk.
  • Providing technical support for regional asset planning and risk assessments.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert on regulatory performance commitments and Outcome Delivery Incentives (ODIs).
  • Producing and validating regulatory reporting submissions, methodologies, compliance statements, and audit trails on a 6-month, 9-month, and annual basis.
  • Supporting preparations for national industry meetings and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Sponsoring investigations, innovation projects, and research & development initiatives aligned to strategic objectives.
  • Working collaboratively across multiple business functions to deliver high-quality data, analysis, and insight to key stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a proactive and analytical professional who combines strong technical capability with the confidence to influence decisions and challenge assumptions.

You'll ideally have:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in a numerate, environmental, engineering, scientific, or technical discipline.
  • Experience within wastewater, environmental services, utilities, asset management, or a similar operational environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Good understanding of wastewater operations, treatment assets, performance reporting, and risk-based investment planning.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge data and reporting decisions where appropriate.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint, with GIS experience desirable.

This role may not be eligible for sponsorship

Why Join Us?

  • Influence key business and investment decisions.
  • Collaborate with industry experts and senior stakeholders.
  • Support innovation, research, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop your career within a business committed to sustainability and long-term environmental stewardship.
