Job Description

Join as Hotel Manager and take ownership of the day-to-day operation of TUI BLUE Curaçao. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will ensure that the hotel operates smoothly, efficiently and consistently every day. This is a highly visible, hands-on operational leadership role. You will spend significant time throughout the resort, supporting Heads of Department, identifying operational gaps and ensuring that agreed standards, procedures and actions are consistently followed. You will translate the General Manager’s strategy, budgets and business objectives into effective daily hotel operations, while delivering strong guest satisfaction, colleague engagement, productivity and cost control.

This role is based at TUI BLUE Curaçao, a franchised partner of TUI Group. Your contract and employment will be directly with the franchised partner.

Applications open until Sunday 9th August.

ABOUT OUR OFFER

  • Two-year local employment contract
  • Discretionary bonus scheme based on company and individual performance
  • Company car or car allowance
  • Company pension scheme
  • Private medical cover and applicable social security contributions
  • Accommodation available upon request
  • Relocation assistance
  • Direct employment with the franchised partner

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Manage and coordinate the day-to-day hotel operation, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Kitchen, Guest Relations and Entertainment.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Security, Human Resources and other support departments to ensure operational issues are resolved quickly and effectively.
  • Act as the General Manager’s senior operational representative and assume responsibility for the hotel operation in the General Manager’s absence.
  • Translate the hotel’s strategy, budgets and business objectives into clear operational priorities, departmental actions and measurable results.
  • Maintain a strong and visible presence throughout the resort, actively observing operations, speaking with guests and colleagues and supporting Heads of Department on the floor.
  • Lead the daily operational briefing and ensure that priorities, guest issues, maintenance concerns, staffing challenges and important events are clearly communicated and followed up.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of TUI brand standards, service standards, cleanliness, presentation, food quality, safety and preventive maintenance requirements.
  • Conduct regular operational inspections and ensure that identified issues are assigned to an owner, given a deadline and followed through to completion.
  • Lead, coach and challenge Heads of Department, setting clear expectations and holding them accountable for standards, staffing, productivity, costs and departmental results.
  • Strengthen cooperation between departments and ensure that the hotel operates as one coordinated team rather than as separate departmental silos.
  • Establish and maintain effective SOPs, checklists, quality controls, reporting routines and operational action plans.
  • Monitor guest feedback, complaints and service recovery, ensuring that recurring issues are analysed and permanently addressed.
  • Monitor staffing levels, scheduling, productivity and payroll efficiency in cooperation with Heads of Department and Human Resources.
  • Drive operational efficiency, food and beverage performance, non-package revenue and effective cost control within approved budgets.

ABOUT YOU

  • Proven experience as a Hotel Manager, Director of Operations, Operations Manager, Assistant General Manager or in a comparable senior operational hotel leadership role.
  • Strong operational knowledge across Rooms Division, Food & Beverage and other guest-facing hotel departments.
  • Experience in a large resort or all-inclusive hotel environment, preferably with approximately 250–400 rooms or more.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing multiple Heads of Department.
  • A genuinely hands-on leader who enjoys being present in the operation and does not manage primarily from an office.
  • Strong organisational skills, operational discipline and the ability to follow through consistently until actions are completed.
  • Strong financial and commercial understanding, with experience managing payroll, departmental costs, productivity, margins and operational budgets.
  • Able to identify operational weaknesses, determine practical solutions and ensure that improvements are implemented.
  • Calm, decisive and solutions-focused under pressure, particularly when handling guest complaints, operational disruptions or emergencies.
  • Approachable, patient and empathetic, while maintaining clear standards, accountability and performance expectations.
  • A collaborative people leader who leads by example, builds trust and creates a positive working environment.
  • Experience working with multicultural teams and the ability to adapt your communication and leadership style to people from different backgrounds.
  • Confident using hotel systems and operational technology. Property Management System experience is required, with Opera experience preferred.
  • Strong written and spoken English is required. Dutch and/or Spanish would be a distinct advantage.
