Job Description

Who we are:

At TrueLayer, we’re building a global open banking platform that’s changing how money moves and so much more. We make payments and refunds instant, account data accessible and verification seamless — all so innovators in every industry can build better financial experiences for their users.

To date, we’ve raised $270 million from world-renowned investors including Stripe, Tiger Global, Addition and Tencent. We’ve got offices in London, Milan and Dublin. And we’re trusted by industry leaders like Revolut, Coinbase and Nutmeg… though we’re not stopping here.

Our vision is a financial system that works for everyone. To make that happen, we’re creating original and innovative products that will remove the friction from finance for good. We’re seriously scaling our infrastructure, we’re entering new areas all the time, we’re cornering a whole new category — and we’d like your support to get us there.

Description:

TrueLayer’s People team is responsible for attracting, engaging and developing some of the best talent from around the world. Working with our business partners and the wider People and Talent team, we’ll obsess over our mission: To change the way the world pays.

Having experienced rapid growth over the past few years, we now need to ensure our People processes and systems are optimised to ensure the best employee experience for our teams.

And that’s why we need you. We’re looking for a People Operations Lead to support us in building a high-quality People function, ensuring all our Employees have the best experience throughout their journey with TrueLayer. You won’t stop till the Harvard Business Review writes about us. If you’re interested in making a huge impact on a global company that’s going places, then read on.

You will lead our People Operations function, heading a team of two and taking responsibility for all employee lifecycle processes, systems ownership and data handling.

In return, we can offer you the opportunity to learn new skills, get involved in some juicy People and Talent projects, and to have an impact on our global growth.

What we expect from you as a People Operations Lead:

  • Lead the operations team in building a slick and efficient function that integrates our systems and automates as many of our processes as possible
  • Contribute to building a framework of our People processes that will enable us to standardise and automate how we work and connect with other teams
  • Support our People Experience function in transitioning to a data-led culture, by building integrated reporting on processes and data that help tell the story of what’s happening to people in our business
  • Instil a culture of rigorous governance in data and systems input in the PeopleX and wider management team, and design risk out of our processes to eliminate human error in our processing
  • Bring an attitude of continuous improvement as we incrementally improve, and teach our team to think and build in readiness for scaling. Your team will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of post-offer administration including employment contracts, visa sponsorship and relocation assistance across the UK, Italy and various other countries and any external service providers
  • Lead ownership of vendor management relating to employment processes including our background check services, employers of record and immigration lawyers and HR systems

About you:

  • Previous experience working as a People Operations Lead or within an HR Operations team and now you're ready to make the step up to Lead - you have ideas and insights you want to put into play in this role;
  • Deep experience documenting processes and policies. You know what good governance looks like and you can assess risk and tell us what needs to improve, you have an instinct for recognising how scaling will affect our processes, and how we can design for future growth;
  • You know how to create process flows and you like doing it;
  • You are familiar with case management systems and different approaches and you can’t wait to get started improving ours;
  • Good understanding of contract management systems, HR databases, or ATS software such as Greenhouse and HiBob;
  • Excellent data handling skills: ideally you are already strong in excel and BI data visualisation, and comfortable creating templates for data handling and analysis.
  • Great multitasking and prioritisation skills;
  • Have solid attention to detail and great communication skills.
  • Ability to grow and mature a team, demonstrating what good looks like and creating a framework to work from

We would be particularly excited if you have:

  • An understanding of contract management systems, HR databases, or ATS software such as Greenhouse and HiBob;
  • Experience working in g-suite and using Notion
  • Knowledge of visa sponsorship within the UK and Europe
  • Are excited by Fintech and are tech proficient

Don’t meet all the requirements?

Multiple studies have shown that women and people of underrepresented groups are sometimes less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single requirement. At Truelayer, we are committed to building a diverse workforce, so if you are excited about this role and have the essential skills, but not the entire checklist - we’d still love to hear from you!
