
Warehouse Clerk
Job Description
In the Booker Distribution centres, the purpose of the warehouse is to receive and store goods, and this predominantly consists of food, beverage and household items. The orders are picked by our warehouse operatives who work to safety standards. These are transitioned to our Transport department who will distribute to our customers. This is a fast moving consumer goods environment.
We are currently looking for a Warehouse Clerk working in the Chill / Freezer area of the warehouse, a self-motivated person who loves to get stuck in with the team tasks and be relied upon to follow instructions and meet deadlines. As a Warehouse Clerk, you will be responsible for the day-to-day clerical administration of the Chill operation. This role engages with all levels of staff, working with management, warehouse operatives, drivers and supply chain to ensure the fulfilment of the orders are successfully complete so this work is time constraint and you must have the ability to work under pressure.
You will report to the Senior Clerk on the shift and contribute to the Department’s success by ensuring KPI’s are continually met.
This is a permanent role working any 5 days over 7 (rotating shift between 05.00am to 20.00hrs) so there will be Saturday or Sunday working dependent on rotas. Sunday hours are paid at a premium rate.
Working hours will be discussed at interview but will be between those stated above, however, some flexibility will be required to meet the needs of the business.

- Uploading all relevant information on the system from the days shift
- Working closely with team to ensure loading and unloading is prioritised
- Deal with back picks
- Handling all licence plate enquiries
- Allocating trailers to bays
- Good organisational skills, including prioritising work-load.
- Good computer working and knowledge skills working with Microsoft Office programmes.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Good numeracy and keyboard skills.
- Strong administration skills are required with good communication skills, this role relies heavily on being able to communicate with several different people groups.
- Be fluent in good spoken and written English language.
- Keen eye for detail.
- Good time and attendance.
- Be able to work as part of a team.
- Some training will be provided to help you to integrate into the department.
- Previous experience in a Warehouse Department would be advantageous
