Job Description

As a Service Maintenance Technician - Security at Tesco across Hull, York and East Yorkshire, you�ll play a vital role in ensuring our stores remains a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for customers and colleagues alike. You�ll be part of a skilled team responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of systems and equipment, helping to keep our operations running smoothly.

Your work will directly impact the shopping experience of thousands of customers every day. You�ll use your technical expertise to identify and resolve issues efficiently, always prioritising safety, compliance, and quality.

This is a hands-on role that requires a proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high standards. • Ensuring all Tesco sites are a safe and functioning environment for customers and colleagues.
• Following the planned work schedule to achieve first time fix, improving efficiency, and effectiveness.
• Working closely with team members, sharing best practice and knowledge.
• General day to day store and property maintenance.
• Using mobile devices; phone and tablet, to drive the best approach in work completion and updates.
• Representing the Tesco brand by demonstrating our core values (serving our customers, communities and planet a little better every day), maintaining a positive attitude & taking pride in wearing the Tesco uniform.
• Attending local and national meetings, providing valuable input and feedback.
• Supporting a diverse and inclusive culture.
• Confidently Interact with External Contractors: Coordinating repairs seamlessly.
• Work Collaboratively with the Team: Be a great colleague who understands the importance of quality service.
• Sustain High Energy Levels: Juggling tasks while maintaining efficiency.
• Assist the Management Team: Keeping our stores operating smoothly by maintaining equipment and facilities.
• Minimize Customer Disruption: Coordinating repairs with minimal impact on our valued customers.

• Full Driving license
• Health & Safety awareness
• Proven Security-related technical skills - City & Guilds, apprenticeship
• CCTV (analogue & IP) experience (essential)
• CCTV qualification/certification (desirable)
• Ability to install, configure and maintain CCTV equipment to the relevant industry standards
• Experience working with the following systems: Hikvision, Pelco, Hanwha Techwin
• Experience of working in a retail environment (desirable)
• Administrative skills to include IT & Microsoft Office suite
• Customer/stakeholder escalation management
• Resource scheduling
• IOSH qualification (desirable)
• IPAF (desirable)
• Asbestos Awareness
