Job Description

As a Maintenance Technician at Tesco across Inverness and surrounding areas, you�ll play a vital role in ensuring our stores remains a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for customers and colleagues alike. You�ll be part of a skilled team responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of systems and equipment, helping to keep our operations running smoothly.

Your work will directly impact the shopping experience of thousands of customers every day. You�ll use your technical expertise to identify and resolve issues efficiently, always prioritising safety, compliance, and quality.

This is a hands-on role that requires a proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high standards. As a Maintenance Technician your specific responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks. To thrive in this role, you will need to:

  • Confidently Interact with External Contractors: Coordinating repairs seamlessly.
  • Work Collaboratively with the Team: Be a great colleague who understands the importance of quality service.
  • Sustain High Energy Levels: Juggling tasks while maintaining efficiency.
  • Assist the Management Team: Keeping our stores operating smoothly by maintaining equipment and facilities.
  • Minimize Customer Disruption: Coordinating repairs with minimal impact on our valued customers.

Responsibilities will include;�

  • Ensuring all Tesco sites are a safe and functioning environment for customers and colleagues.
  • Following the planned work schedule to achieve first time fix, improving efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Working closely with team members, sharing best practice and knowledge.
  • General day to day store and property maintenance.
  • Using mobile devices; phone and tablet, to drive the best approach in work completion and updates.
  • Representing the Tesco brand by demonstrating our core values (serving our customers, communities and planet a little better every day), maintaining a positive attitude & taking pride in wearing the Tesco uniform.
  • Attending local and national meetings, providing valuable input and feedback.
  • Supporting a diverse and inclusive culture.

As a vital part of our Maintenance team, you will demonstrate enthusiasm for maintaining high standards. With previous experience in a maintenance, engineering, or construction environment, you will be digitally confident using a tablet to view daily work schedules and manage emails.

Operational Skills:

  • ONC or equivalent
  • Full driving license
  • Health & Safety awareness
  • Communication & Collaboration
  • Office 365 knowledge
  • Completed all technical training upskilling modules relevant to abilities.
