Job Title: Frontend Developer (Maternity cover/11 month FTC)

Reports to: Head of Digital Product

Location: Hybrid home/office

Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £30,000 PA (fixed term contract) or day rate (to be discussed)

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Sift development team.

Working closely as part of the development team, you’ll be responsible for building modern and advanced features on the Spark platform (our Drupal 7 code base that delivers the five websites our development team work on and support).

We’re looking for someone to help support and develop our sites and products to deliver best-in-class digital experiences for our audiences. As well as helping to plan the strategy for replatforming of our sites in the future.

Ideally we would like someone available to start in September 2022.

What we’d like from you

  • Broad experience of frontend development of Drupal websites
  • Extensive knowledge of Drupal 7 theming and templating
  • Good working knowledge of HTML, SASS, JavaScript including jQuery
  • Good working knowledge of PHP
  • Experience of working with version control systems like git
  • Understanding of design systems and design pattern best practices to build scalable, maintainable and efficient applications
  • Experience of building complex responsive and accessible sites
  • Experience of cross-browser and device support
  • Good analytical skills and great problem solver

Additional desirable qualities, skills and experience

  • Understanding of Drupal 8 and/or 9 theming and templating
