We need to ask employees of Sift how satisfied they are with flexible working before we verify the company FlexScore® and compile employee satisfaction ratings

The FlexScore® is the result of a rigorous 2-step verification of a company’s flexibility

First we assess the flexibility options Sift provides and then we anonymously survey a statistically significant proportion of their employees to make sure Sift is as flexible as they say they are. Our assessment is based on the six key elements of flexibility: location, hours, autonomy, benefits, role modelling and work-life balance.

We ask the hard questions so you don’t have to.

Employee reviews

Sift's employees have anonymously had their say in what they think of the company

Sift operates on trust and offered flexible working patterns even before the pandemic forced companies to adapt their attitude and approach to office-based working. Flexible working is an intrinsic part of our work culture.

Probably the most flexible company I've worked at with a really good approach to their policies and team.

During the pandemic, it was proven that flexible working actually worked well in the main for most employees at our company. After much consultation the company policy if very flexible, we have basic role charters, but there is no pressure to attend office at specific times. Sift has been very diligent at exploring ideas for flexible working and is an excellent company to work for, always putting employees first.

I love the freedom and autonomy we are given to do our best work when and where we feel suits us best.

I love how my company trusts me in doing my job in the way best suits me. It makes it so much easier to balance life and work, I feel more relaxed in life and more productive at work.

Really flexible and trusting as long as get the job done.

I think it's important to note, that Sift has both UK and US employees that have different schemes and benefits. I work on the US team. Sift has been a welcoming environment that I much enjoy, but I would like to see similar benefits to the US team when capable. They are working on this!

Overall Sift is a really flexible company. But could offer more flexibility in terms of WHEN we work (current core working hours are 10-4).

Flexible working at Sift

Here at Sift, we are more than just our day-to-day work and we always make a point to remember that. Sift is passionate about flexible working and inclusivity; connecting with talented people, regardless of their location or personal commitments.

All employees are a part of a team charter, meaning each team can choose where, when, and how they will work most effectively together. This may mean working remotely full time or visiting the office when the need arises, which enables collaborative working as well as keeping our company culture alive across many geographic locations and outside of work commitments. We encourage autonomy and trust our Sifters to manage their own priorities and workloads.

Approach to diversity & inclusion

Sift's top value is 'Be Human First,' and we mean it. We are all human, with shared and differentiating experiences that make us who we are. At Sift, we embrace, celebrate, and give you space to experience those unique aspects of yourself as we work to promote and uplift all Sifters.

In addition to our blind hiring process and Sift Social Code, we also have a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging (DEIB) consultant, who leads the Sift DEIB group. This group of Sift employees (including our CEO) meets monthly to develop and implement DEIB initiatives/events, discuss what each brand is doing to meet our goals, and review Sift practises to ensure we are held accountable and continue to move forward in acceptance, representation, and inclusion.

What do we think of Sift?

Sift scored brilliantly on their intial benchmarking test, which shows how much they value a flexible working environment to bring the best out of their employees. More impressively however, was the feedback we received from the employees themselves through the anonymous survey we conducted. It's clear to us that Sift ask the right questions internally and are striving to foster a working environment that suits everyone's needs.

Meet who might be hiring you

We are very proud of our culture at Sift. One of our core values is ‘Be Human First’ and the senior leaders work hard to make sure Sift is an inclusive and welcoming place. Everyone is approachable, there is good communication throughout, and we offer support and encourage our staff to develop professionally. We offer a whole host of benefits, including flexible working, so if you’d like to join a growing, successful and diverse company, we’d love to hear from you.
