What you'll build


As a XR Design student (f/m/d) in our Strategic Innovation Projects Team, you will work on innovative and future related projects. Under the supervision of a senior designer, you will work on building the bridge between the world of extended reality technologies and enterprise software. You will be part of a technology-focused team that builds to help shape the future generations of SAP software.

You will have the chance to directly work with an agile group of colleagues with a tech and design background to bring ideas together and jointly ship real applications to real end users.

We are looking for an XR Design student (f/m/d) with a broad understanding of 3D Design, spatial and immersive environments, User Experience in the immersive field, and being comfortable with wearing XR devices. You should be able to join a design project at every stage in the process to craft what is needed to deliver a great experience to real end users.
Since you will be working in a workshop environment with real hardware, this is primarily an on-site position.

What you bring

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Game-Design, 3D-Design or a related field (focus on design, 3D modelling)
  • A design portfolio
  • Preferred Skills:
    • 3D Modelling skillset is a must (Blender or similar software)
    • Experienced in working with game engines like Godot, Unity or Unreal Engine is a must
    • Proficient in design tools, such as Figma, Sketch, Mural, Miro, and Adobe CC
    • A great eye for detail, especially when it comes to the intersection of the physical and digital world
  • Experience in Data Visualization is a plus
  • Language skills: Fluent in German or English (written and spoken)
  • Motivated to articulate and communicate ideas and design decisions well to interdisciplinary project teams
  • Work Experience: We are preferably looking for a working student (f/m/d) with prior work experience as a student worker in a similar field or within your studies
  • Working from the office is required


Where you belong


At Strategic Projects, as part of the Chief Technology Office, we are driving forward Research & Innovation development excellence by creating cutting-edge solutions, especially for strategic CTO topics, and implementing novel and strategically relevant solutions e. g projects with a strong focus on implementing innovation in enterprise learning. In addition, we prepare and support major SAP CTO keynotes, provide expertise and develop proof-of-concepts for strategic technology topics. Our team consists of about 50 colleagues who are students, young professionals, and experienced professionals in the areas of software development, design, project management and team/management assistance. We work in teams that are mainly located in Potsdam/Berlin and Walldorf and collaborate closely with other SAP teams to realize our mission.


Your set of application documents should contain a cover letter, a resume in table form, school leaving certificates, certificate of enrollment, current university transcript of records, copies of any academic degrees already earned, and if available, references from former employers (including internships). Please also describe your experience and skills in foreign languages and computer programs / programming languages.
