Job Description

We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

What you'll build

Delivering an enterprise-grade product like SAP HANA requires coordinated activities across code integration, testing, packaging, deployment, and documentation. To enable frequent, reliable releases, we automate these workflows wherever possible. The HANA Delivery Team has built a Python- and Jenkins-based toolchain to drive this automation.
We are re-engineering our task orchestration framework to improve robustness and maintainability. You will contribute to this effort and gain hands-on experience with the build and delivery of a major software product.

What you’ll do

  • Design, implement and test features for our Python-based toolchain, particularly our task orchestration framework
  • Improve code quality, reliability, and maintainability. Write unit and integration tests; add logging, monitoring, and metrics where appropriate
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers and follow CI/CD best practices

Tech stack you’ll use

  • Python and SQL
  • Jenkins Pipelines (Groovy)
  • YAML and REST APIs
  • Git/GitHub
  • Jira

What you bring

  • Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Solid programming skills in Python and SQL. Groovy is a plus.
  • Experience with Git, GitHub, Jenkins and AI programming is helpful
  • Fluent in English, German skills are a plus
  • Regular office attendance in the SAP Headquarter Walldorf is required

The application must contain (English or German):

  1. A cover letter that expresses your interest
  2. A CV that provides information about your programming experience
  3. A transcript of records (ToR) that contains grades of all university-level courses/degrees

Where you belong

The SAP HANA Delivery Team is responsible for delivering HANA on-premise and Cloud to customers in quality and time.
We plan releases, align quality, and transform the content of the SAP HANA source code repository into a release. For HANA Cloud, we actively manage the released versions after delivery.
Delivery collaborates with a wide range of teams such as SAP HANA program- and product management, development, technical support and internal stakeholders that build their applications on top of the SAP HANA Platform.

Your set of application documents should contain a cover letter, a resume in table form, school leaving certificates, certificate of enrollment, current university transcript of records, copies of any academic degrees already earned, and if available, references from former employers (including internships). Please also describe your experience and skills in foreign languages and computer programs / programming languages.
