What you'll build

We are looking for a motivated Working Student (f/m/d) to support our Tax Management engineering team within SAP’s S/4HANA Public Cloud Finance area in Walldorf.

You will work in an agile, cross-cultural team of developers and product managers, contributing to real product features that help companies around the world stay compliant. AI-assisted development is part of our daily practice — you’ll learn how to use modern AI tools to write, test, and improve code more effectively.

You will:

• Develop and maintain automated tests for tax features (unit tests, integration tests, test frameworks)
• Contribute to feature development in ABAP for SAP’s S/4HANA Public Cloud
• Explore and apply AI-assisted development practices (e.g. code generation, test automation, code analysis)
• Work closely with experienced developers and product managers to build domain knowledge
• Contribute to team processes and tooling (specs, documentation, CI/CD pipeline quality)

What you bring

• Student (f/m/d) at a university or university of applied sciences, preferably in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Programming experience, ideally in ABAP or another object-oriented language
• Interest in AI-assisted development and modern software engineering practices
• Fluent in German and English, written and verbal
• Team player with a structured, reliable approach to work
• Available at least once per week in our Walldorf office

Where you belong

Our Tax Management team is part of SAP Cloud ERP Finance Engineering. We build the tax engine inside SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud — the system that determines, calculates, and reports taxes for companies around the world. Our agile team in Walldorf works closely with colleagues in Shanghai. You’ll be part of a team that ships real code to production, uses AI tooling in daily development, and takes quality seriously.

Your set of application documents should contain a cover letter, a resume in table form, school leaving certificates, certificate of enrollment, current university transcript of records, copies of any academic degrees already earned, and if available, references from former employers (including internships). Please also describe your experience and skills in foreign languages and computer programs / programming languages.
