We help the world run better

At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

What you'll build

Supporting our Privacy & Compliance CoE Team, you will gradually build your knowledge of data protection, compliance, and governance topics while gaining hands-on experience by supporting the team in a variety of operational tasks. With guidance from experienced colleagues, you will have the opportunity to dive into topics such as:

  • Support colleagues in maintaining documentation in the Record of Processing Activities (RoPA) (GDPR), including quality checks of existing entries
  • Prepare and support Data Protection Unit Coordinator (DPUC) community calls: agenda and slide preparation, reporting, presenting updates, and tracking follow-up items
  • Maintain and update analytics dashboards
  • Support the onboarding of new DPUCs and other new team members
  • Support preparation of internal privacy audits
  • Support team administration activities, such as preparing team events
  • Assist with compliance topics such as Export Control and EU data access requirements
  • Take full ownership of your own topics and drive them independently

What you bring

You are a student (f/m/d) at a university or a university of applied sciences. We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stays curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

  • Preferred fields of study: Studies of business administration, business informatics, business law, law or adjacent disciplines
  • Mandatory IT skills: Microsoft 365
  • Language skills: Fluent in English is essential to deal with virtual and international teams, German is a plus
  • Interest in privacy and compliance topics
  • You should be an excellent team player with strong abilities to network and to work independently by using analytical and problem-solving skills and your willingness to learn quickly
  • Working from the office in Walldorf/St. Leon-Rot is required based on prior agreement

Then YOU are the right candidate for this position. We are looking forward to your application and getting to know you.

Where you belong

The mission of the Privacy & Compliance CoE is to be the trusted partner for secure and compliant solutions, proactively guiding our internal customers through data protection and privacy, export control and EU access regulations.

We deliver innovative, legally sound, and tailored processes and solutions that support innovation and drive customer success. Together with our internal community network, we prioritize a strong service mentality, emphasize people focus, maintain robust security and compliance standards, provide expert consulting, and offer enablement to educate and empower.

We are a global team, collaborating across various locations in Germany, the United States and China.

Your set of application documents should contain a cover letter, a resume in table form, school leaving certificates, certificate of enrollment, current university transcript of records, copies of any academic degrees already earned, and if available, references from former employers (including internships). Please also describe your experience and skills in foreign languages and computer programs / programming languages.

This is a SAP global, strategic, paid working student position that provides students with opportunities to find purpose in their careers.
