Job Description

We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

What you'll build

As our Working Student for Visual & Brand Design, you will be the creative force shaping how developers experience OpenUI5, our open source UI technology. You will empower a global developer community by transforming complex topics into clear and engaging learning videos. You will bring our brand to life across all channels, translating complex technical topics into engaging learning videos and crafting compelling visuals for our social media and web presence that resonate with a global community.
A highlight of your role will be helping to shape the look and feel for the upcoming UI5con, our annual community conference. Your mission is to create an unforgettable event for hundreds of attendees, both online and in person. You will have the creative freedom to bring your vision to life, from conceptualizing the on-site experience with unique venue decorations to producing digital assets for the live stream. You’ll design everything from dynamic intro videos and polished background graphics to engaging scene animations, adding a final layer of magic with visual effects to make the conference truly unique and memorable for everyone.

What you bring

  • Current enrolment in a degree program such as Graphic Design, Media Design, or Visual Communication
  • First experience with video editing and production, especially with Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Proficiency in graphic design software like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Experience with tools like Figma is a plus
  • A portfolio of your design and/or video work that showcases your creativity
  • To foster close collaboration, we expect you to join us in the office at least once a week
  • A strong command of English (at least B2 level) is required for this role. As most of the team speaks German, German language skills are a plus
  • Working form Walldorf/St. Leon Rot is required

Where you belong

We are looking for a proactive and well-organized team player who loves to collaborate on creative projects. You are a great communicator with a passion for modern design and visual storytelling. A strong interest in UI technology, open-source communities, or event management is a major plus.
We are the Product Management team for OpenUI5 and SAPUI5. Our core mission is to define the product strategy and drive the success of our UI technologies, which are used by developers across the globe. Our daily business involves shaping the product roadmap, engaging with our vibrant community, and creating high-quality content and events to support our users. We are a strategic, creative, and passionate team dedicated to ensuring our products thrive.

We offer:

  • Flexible working hours that can be arranged with your studies
  • Ample opportunities to take initiative and bring your ideas to life
  • A supportive and collaborative team that values appreciation and promotes flat hierarchies
  • Valuable insights into the world of software development and open source

Ready to create With Us?
If you’re excited by this challenge and believe you’re the right person to help us elevate the OpenUI5 brand, we want to hear from you!
