As part of the SAP Sustainability Growth unit, this senior expert role is dedicated to transforming customers into intelligent, sustainable enterprises by demonstrating the value of ERP centric sustainability. The Global Sustainability team seeks candidates who are passionate about helping customers achieve their sustainability ambitions, not simply reporting on them.

The primary focus of the Sustainability Growth Unit is to drive further market penetration of SAP sustainability solutions across both private and public cloud customers by identifying and nurturing new, upsell, and cross sell opportunities. This includes safeguarding customer success across the customer value journey, navigating key stakeholders, and demonstrating the synergies and value across SAP’s Sustainability L1 solution portfolio, with a strong emphasis on expanding adoption within SAP install accounts.

The successful candidate will bring leadership expertise in cloud ERP transformation and a functional foundation in supply chain, finance, and BTP. The ideal candidate has an extensive internal SAP network can navigate SAP account team dynamics and partners, position the value of the Sustainability L1 portfolio, and drive next steps with critical executive stakeholders—including CSO, CFO, CPO, and CIO—leveraging the appropriate expert resources within SAP.

As part of a global Sustainability GTM community of subject matter experts, this role actively shares and applies learnings from peers to support continuous improvement. It’s a demanding set of skills and a unique opportunity for a true change maker in a unit of strategic importance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drives penetration of the Sustainability portfolio into both install base and net‑new accounts aligned to priority industries.
  • Strategically nurtures sustainability initiatives in install base accounts, driving upsell opportunities.
  • Positions Services or Partner portfolio with license opportunity where appropriate.
  • Leads consultative customer engagements, with a broad understanding of underlying SAP solutions, business processes, and industry value chains.
  • Uses a discovery‑based approach to uncover customer pain points and priorities, applying sustainability solution knowledge into compelling value propositions.
  • Evangelizes SAP’s sustainability portfolio capabilities with account teams, including coaching and upskilling VAT team members through customer engagements and enablement to scale knowledge.
  • Acts as the voice of the customer and field, providing feedback to Product Engineering and Marketing.
  • Stays abreast of solution capabilities and roadmaps.
  • Collaborates with the Sustainability Adoption team and partners.
  • Leads and participates in best‑practice sharing with other Regional Sustainability Principals and Leads.
  • Takes ownership of delivering on regional sustainability KPIs, including growing customer base/bookings and delivering successful go‑lives and references.

Collaboration with SAP Expert Community

  • Leverages SAP’s internal expert network to assemble the right expertise for complex customer engagements and executive discussions, ensuring the strongest possible outcomes.
  • Actively contributes to the global Sustainability GTM community by sharing best practices, playbooks, and field learnings to drive consistency, scale, and continuous improvement across regions.
  • Partners with Sustainability Adoption, Product Engineering, Marketing, and the broader ecosystem to strengthen solution positioning and accelerate adoption aligned to customer needs.

Team Mentoring & Capability Building

  • Serve as a mentor and role model for Sustainability Principals, VAT team members, and broader account teams accelerating capability development through real customer engagements and practical coaching.
  • Coaches’ peers and junior team members on executive level storytelling, discovery led engagement, and outcome based value positioning for ERP centric sustainability level storytelling, discovery led engagement, and outcome based value positioning for ERP centric sustainability.
  • Enables scale by transferring expertise across regions and teams through structured enablement, deal coaching, and repeatable best practice sharing within the Sustainability GTM community.

Reporting

  • This role reports to the Americas Sustainability Principal Director

Qualifications

  • Customer focus.
  • Experience developing and mentoring peers
  • Knowledge of private and public cloud offerings, Finance, BTP, and Supply Chain portfolios.
  • SAP customer executive facing experience in software sales/pre‑sales/consulting capacity.
  • Knowledge and experience in Value Selling and RISE Value Framework.
  • Bachelor/Master’s degree.
  • 15+ years in sales, pre‑sales, sustainability, or consultative engagement.
  • Ability to collaborate, drive teamwork.

Required Skills

  • Ability to position the value of SAP’s private and public cloud offerings and Sustainability L1 solutions; passion to learn from other subject matter experts.
  • Anticipate, recognize, and address customer challenges/issues/opportunities in a timely manner; manage risk and expectations.

SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 271800 - 578700(USD) USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
