Job Description
We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.
About the role
The Associate Development Architect designs, builds, and evolves AI-native enterprise applications and agents that support AI adoption across SAP's customers. The role applies agentic engineering methods, AI tooling, and SAP platform capabilities to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable B2B software.
This is a single-contributor role. You take end-to-end technical ownership of critical systems, define architecture independently, and set engineering quality standards while remaining hands-on working integrated with AI for delivery.
What you'll bring
- B2B Enterprise SaaS architecture and engineering. Proven depth designing and operating multi-tenant, cloud-based enterprise software at scale.
- AI-powered end-to-end delivery. Proven depth delivering software across the full lifecycle using AI-assisted and autonomous engineering.
- Strong experience in distributed systems and scalable application design, including system design for scale, resiliency, and fault tolerance.
- Hands-on experience applying agentic engineering and orchestration patterns, including multi-agent and agent-assisted workflows.
- Sound cloud architecture judgement, balancing scalability, security, performance, and cost.
- Experience defining evaluation and benchmarking approaches for AI systems, validating model and agent behaviour, and assuring AI output quality.
- Practical command of context engineering and AI-assisted prototyping in day-to-day work.
- Strong CI/CD practice and the ability to build reliable, repeatable delivery pipelines.
- Technical leadership and mentoring ability.
What you'll build
- Scalable, AI-native enterprise application systems and components, designed and architected independently.
- End-to-end delivery approaches for AI-powered software, integrating AI-assisted and autonomous engineering across design, build, test, and deployment.
- Evaluation and benchmarking frameworks that measure AI system quality, reliability, and output correctness.
- Multi-agent and agent-assisted workflows using agentic engineering and orchestration patterns.
- Cloud architecture decisions and CI/CD pipelines that support secure, reliable, and repeatable delivery.
- Production-ready solutions delivered in partnership with platform, data, and AI teams, with continued improvement to system scalability, resilience, and maintainability.
Where you belong
You take end-to-end technical ownership of critical systems and contribute to engineering excellence across the team. You guide less-experienced engineers, support design and code quality, and help build technical capability within the team.
The team works across global, cross-functional groups in a culture that values continuous improvement, operational excellence, and knowledge sharing. The role suits an engineer who wants to define architecture and delivery direction directly while staying close to the build.
Bring out your best
SAP innovations help more than four hundred thousand customers worldwide work together more efficiently and use business insight more effectively.
