The SAP Procurement Engineering team has the mission to design and develop intelligent procurement processes with cloud mindset, embedded in architecture and technology and build cloud solutions that help our customers to better manage their sourcing, contract, order and invoice processes.
About the team:
SAP Category Management team is responsible for feature development and maintenance of the Category Management cloud-based application. The application enables users to digitalize and streamline the development, execution, and monitoring of purchasing categories strategies in Procurement
The primary areas of technology this team works on are Java, Web, REST, Micro services, UI5, Fiori, Springboot, GitHub, BTP and CAP.
The Role:
As an Architect, you will be working with developers, Product managers and other architects to deliver key enhancements and features, ensure compliance in terms of product standards and architectures guidelines in the SAP Procurement products.
What you'll do:
- Understand company strategy and business; design, implement and continuously improve system architecture to support a high-volume SaaS platform with complex business scenarios, high security, performance, scalability, avaliability and testability.
- Engage in defining, developing, and managing software development models; foster collaboration with colleagues across various teams and time zones to address challenges effectively.
- Liaison with Product Manager, Engineering Manager and other agile teams to align with the overall product vision and architecture design.
- Own the development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and customer support aspects of your projects.
- Thoroughly document technical designs, code, and configurations to facilitate maintenance and future development efforts.
- Spend approximately 40% of your time on coding and leverage on AI for productivity improvement.
- Develop and maintain the Java codes in the Category Management microservice.
- Coaching team members to enhance their proficiency in development processes, quality standards, and relevant technologies, thereby elevating overall expertise and productivity.
- Consistently refining designs and implementations and making substantial contributions to the ongoing development of the technical roadmap.
Role requirements:
- Develop software using agile software engineering and clean code. Good experience in developing web-based applications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience, with solid CS fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, databases, distributed systems).
- Extensive hands-on experience in software development, including java, web application, javaScript and cloud native development.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and application security.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills; innovative mindset.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or SAP BTP cloud platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative AI frameworks for building intelligent features and developer tools
- Sound understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing frameworks.
- Professional proficiency in English (written and verbal)
