Site Reliability Engineer  (Performance focus)  in SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP)

Purpose & Objectives:

SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) is SAP’s next-generation cloud-based supply chain planning solution utilized by hundreds of customers, including some of the world's leading companies.

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be working in a team of experienced SRE colleagues. Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Drive the automated sizing activities to bring the optimal service to our customers with best performance and lowest TCO.
  • Taking care of monitoring based proactive upsizing and E2E performance
  • Support Customer Success Partners in sizing and performance related questions.
  • Continuously improve the sizing and performance measurement processes
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Out of Memory (OOM) Analysis:
  • Initial analysis of the downtime situation in customer systems.
  • Working together with development teams on solving further disruptions.
  • Creating bridge between IBP Operations and IBP Engineering
  • Initial analysis in case of customer incident on performance and memory issues, fix problems, coordinate incident management across the layers and development teams
  • Develop tools and advances automation features to reduce the need for manual intervention
  • Document root cause analysis reports and develop standard operating procedures
  • Act as liaison with technical colleagues to solve complex customer related issues
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation sets, troubleshooting guides and procedural documentation
  • Document and update support documentation (continuous improvement)
  • Demonstrate full responsibility for accepted tasks and therefore demonstrates a high level of quality, speed, reliability, and efficiency
  • Work closely together with other team members across continents to ensure the team success.

Expectations & Tasks:

  • You should have 5+ years of professional experience in information technology, a bachelor’s degree or alike is required
  • You should quickly adopt to new environments and team structures
  • You should be keen to learn new solutions and processes and continuously search for improvements
  • You should have a constructive and open style of communication and collaborative mindset.
  • You should be flexible with proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • SaaS and Cloud technology experience is a must.
  • Fluent proficiency in English is a must
  • Experience in performance testing and analyzing is a must.
  • If you have SCM solution knowledge already this is a bonus
  • If you have Python programming skills this is a bonus
  • You should have knowledge of database concepts and SQL

Learning & Development Opportunities:

You´ll have a learning experience inti SAP Digital Supply Chain Planning with focus on Integrated Business Planning. Here SRE is the glue that connects the development unit and the cloud operations part. Making sure that decisions on Cloud operations are based on business process facts. So knowledge on the IBP will be key to make good decisions. No worries, business can be learned and we would be happy to teach.

Our LOB development unit is responsible for the design, the development and the maintenance / cloud operation of SAPs SCM planning solutions. One of the lighthouse products we develop is the SAP Integrated Business Planning which is used by more than thousand customers including world leading brands and generates three-digit million EUR in revenue.

The Digital Supply Chain (DSC) Service Reliability and Automation Team is grouping all test automation and cloud service quality experts (TCO, SRE, Performance) of DSC engineering under one roof. The team is continuously improving cloud service quality, increasing Cloud Margin, improving test automation, and increasing automation level of the software development landscape.]
