Job Description

We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

Do you thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy building tools that empower others? Are you passionate about data, analytics, and cutting-edge technology? Join us as a Senior Software Architect in the Customer Engagement and Innovation Delivery (CEID) organization. In this role, you will shape the technical vision and architecture of IT solutions that power strategic, board‑level internal SAP use cases. A key focus area is the ONE360 platform and the ONE360 AI Agent framework—the central workspace that curates critical insights, orchestrates data, and delivers intelligent tools to drive strategic value and enable proactive account and partner management across SAP.

What you'll build

  • Define and evolve the technical strategy and architecture for scalable, secure, and resilient systems.
  • Design and guide the implementation of enterprise-grade AI/ML and agentic capabilities. Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that are reliable, cost‑efficient, and aligned with SAP’s broader Business AI vision.
  • This role blends deep software architecture expertise with hands-on experience in building production-ready solutions, making it a unique opportunity to drive innovation at the core of SAP’s customer engagement landscape.
  • Develop the system architecture, select the right technologies, and establish design principles to ensure scalability, maintainability, and alignment with business needs.
  • Translate product and business goals into a clear technical direction, define architectural standards, and guide long-term technology evolution.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, data experts, and UX to design robust solutions and ensure architectural feasibility across all components.
  • Oversee non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, resilience, and security to deliver enterprise-grade, production-ready systems.
  • Guide development teams, conduct design reviews, and foster best practices to strengthen architectural thinking across the organization.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Informatics, Data Science, Media Informatics, or a related field.
  • 8+ years in software architecture/engineering working in agile/scrum environments, including 3+ years building and operating AI/ML
  • Strong understanding of the webstack technologies TypeScript, NodeJS, ReactJS and Java.
  • Experience working with RESTful APIs and backend services.
  • Proficiency in version control systems, a specially Git.
  • Security and compliance understanding in cloud and orchestrated environments: secrets management, encryption, zero trust, audit logging; familiarity with SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA/PCI depending on industry.
  • Experience evaluating LLMs and foundation models (OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta, open-source), prompt engineering, RAG, fine-tuning strategies, and cost/perf trade-offs.
  • Excellent communication in English (German is a plus) and stakeholder management; ability to simplify complex topics, influence decisions, and lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Passion for creating user-centered, compelling visualizations through iterative learning and refinement.

Where you belong

The team in SAP’s internal IT organization defines and implements SAP’s internal Customer and Partner 360° dashboards, empowering internal stakeholders with fast, secure, and trusted data. Our mission is to enable data‑driven decision‑making and efficient daily operations, ultimately strengthening how SAP supports its customers.

We are a cross-functional group of requirements engineers, data specialists, and developers dedicated to maintaining and continuously improving the ONE360 Dashboard and driving AI agentic use cases across the ONE360 data foundation. We work closely with business stakeholders, backend engineering teams, and architects to deliver innovative, high‑quality solutions with a strong focus on data quality and exceptional user experience.
