Gardener, Garden Linux, Cloud Orchestrator, and IronCore are innovative projects in cloud and AI infrastructure technology. Gardener manages Kubernetes clusters at scale, while Garden Linux offers a secure, lightweight OS for cloud environments. Cloud Orchestrator streamlines cloud resource management, and IronCore develops secure, high-performance infrastructure solutions. Together, these projects advance cloud and AI infrastructure management for sovereign cloud deployments.

Our project management team coordinates across the initiatives we’re involved in. They engage with stakeholders across each initiative and play a vital role in bringing structure to our efforts. The team’s core responsibility is to orchestrate and oversee the full spectrum of our projects within the context of ApeiroRA, ensuring each initiative is executed with precision and strategic vision.

We’re building ApeiroRA, an open-source reference architecture that strengthens Europe’s digital sovereignty. This initiative is part of a broader movement to ensure security, sustainability, and compliance for cloud-to-edge computing. By joining us, you’ll contribute to a project that’s not just technical, it’s strategic for Europe’s future.

The Role:

  • Establish and maintain project management structures that support transparency, accountability, and efficient workflow.
  • Orchestrate and oversee a range of project initiatives within ApeiroRA, ensuring strategic alignment and high-quality execution.
  • Coordinate efforts among multiple development teams and stakeholders to maintain clarity, consistency, and momentum throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical groups, bridging gaps and driving collaborative problem-solving.
  • Monitor and report on progress across projects, proactively identify risks, and implement solutions to keep initiatives on track.
  • Ensure that all projects meet established quality standards and contribute to the long-term goals of digital sovereignty and cloud-native innovation in Europe.

We value your familiarity with technology, but even more, we appreciate your talent for understanding complex problems and driving projects beyond simply writing backlog items. Your expertise will be essential in fostering effective communication and ensuring that each project advances in line with our strategic goals.

What you bring:

  • Strong background in project management methodologies and agile software engineering; shaping organizational standards and practices
  • Ability to inspire leaders and teams; creating a culture of trust, confidence, and alignment on strategic priorities.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills in English, both written and verbal; influencing decisions at senior levels.
  • Good technical understanding of Kubernetes, open-source projects and cloud technologies and hands-on experience in any programming language is beneficial.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
