What you’ll build-

As an senior devops engineer for CBC DevOps & Cloud Operations you will be working closely with the team of CBC DevOps & Cloud Operations & external (3rd – party) experts.We are looking for a passionate and hands-on DevOps Architect who combines deep technical expertise with architectural vision. You will design and drive the end-to-end DevOps platform, champion automation, guide the team on best practices, and represent DevOps across cross-functional architecture forums. This role requires someone equally comfortable writing code and whiteboarding system design.

You will be one of the Key Experts to define and drive the tasks for CBC DevOps & Cloud Operations

  • EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
    • Passion for coding and automation.
    • Design, develop, test and deliver container-based execution environment.
    • Develop robust Kubernetes orchestration framework.
  • Experience in Open Source Observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch, cloud logging etc is a must
  • Define the end-to-end DevOps architecture, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure provisioning, and observability stacks
  • Also steps into the architecture role for the DevOps team and represent DevOps in various CBC teams during the architure discussion
  • Also guide team members on the golden path and best practises
  • Collaborate with development, security, and product teams to align delivery practice
  • Work on automation of involved operation practices.
  • In depth knowledge of BTP and its services ,
  • In depth knowledge of Gardener etc is needed
  • In depth knowledge of HANA , Postgres SQL is a needed
    • Work on topics for the technical execution of the delivery architecture and contribute to cloud enablement efforts.
  • Hands-on experience implementing GitOps workflows using tools like Flux, and Helm
  • Designed and maintained declarative infrastructure pipelines where all changes are version-controlled, peer-reviewed, and automatically reconciled to the desired state
  • Reduced deployment errors significantly by eliminating manual interventions and enforcing pull-based deployment models.

• Support the delivery roadmap and drive incubation of new technologies.
• Invest oneself in good development lifecycle practices.
• Working in a fast-paced team environment with ability to delivery features end-to-end.

  • Coding experience on Python, Go, Shell Script and Ruby is a must
  • Knowledge on the SAP golden path is a added advantage
  • Communicate architecture decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Trouble shooting customer issues wrt landscape and platform ( K8s,IAS/IPS etc )

What you bring-

• Master’s degree in computer science.
• Highly motivated and technology oriented.
• Deep knowledge in containerization (Docker), scaling of services using orchestration (Kubernetes), traffic management (Istio) and similar services.
• Experience on various deployment methodologies like green-blue / canary deployment etc
• Experience on pipeline-based deployment – conversant with CI tools like Git, SVN, Jenkins, hyperspace etc.
• Experience with 4+1 cloud infrastructure providers and abstraction layers as Gardener.
• Exposure to large scale cloud software build, integration, and test environments.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in German and English, both written and oral.
• Agile and fast Learner with an optimistic attitude, taking the team along towards a common goal.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS OF ADVANTAGE

Beside the above-mentioned expectations and qualifications, Experiences with other SAP Cloud Operations would be of advantage, such as S/4HANA Cloud Operations or any other SAP Solution

The "Central Business Configuration Support & Customer Success Team" is a newly created team to run the global support for our Cloud Customers and drive the success of SAP's Cloud Implementation Projects, using the new technology delivered by CBC. We decided to increase the accountability of this team in implementing a new delivery unit for DevOps and Cloud Operations for Central Business Configuration.
