SAP AI Product Engineering is part of the SAP Business AI unit and a key driver of the Intelligent Enterprise. Our mission is to infuse enterprise applications with Artificial Intelligence capabilities, empowering customers to unlock value from their business data.
We build and operate foundational products such as SAP Generative AI Hub, AI Core, and AI Launchpad, enabling application teams to seamlessly embed AI capabilities into their solutions. Our global teams across Germany, Singapore, and India work in a collaborative, innovation-driven environment that encourages ownership, experimentation, and technical excellence.

What You’ll Do
As a Senior Developer, you will take end-to-end ownership of critical components within SAP AI Core and the Generative AI Hub. You will design, develop, optimize, and operate core services that power SAP’s enterprise AI ecosystem.
This is a hands-on senior engineering role with strong exposure to system design and architecture. You will actively contribute code while influencing design decisions, owning cross-component technical flows, and gradually growing into a broader architectural role.

End-to-End Engineering Ownership
• Own backend components across design, development, testing, deployment, and operational support.
• Deliver complex features independently with high ownership, quality, and transparency.
• Drive deep technical investigations, performance tuning, and reliability improvements.

System Design & Technical Contribution
• Participate in architectural discussions and propose scalable, secure, and maintainable designs.
• Write technical design documents, sequence diagrams, and flow specifications.
• Understand and contribute to cross-component flows such as executions, pipelines, monitoring, provisioning, and model lifecycle.
• Evaluate technology choices, integration patterns, and long-term system evolution.

Core Development Responsibilities
• Build cloud-native services using Python, Java, or Go.
• Design secure, scalable APIs and integrate with SAP BTP and hyperscaler services.
• Improve observability using logging, metrics, tracing, dashboards, and alerts.
• Enhance CI/CD pipelines, automation, and developer productivity tooling.
• Apply strong engineering, security, and coding best practices.

DevOps, Stability & Performance
• Support productive customer workloads and internal consumers.
• Troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes.
• Improve system performance, resilience, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Ensure reliability through automated testing and continuous improvement.
Collaboration & Mentoring
• Mentor junior developers through code reviews and technical guidance.
• Collaborate closely with global teams across time zones.
• Contribute to org-wide engineering standards and platform improvements.

What You Bring
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of strong experience in software development.
• Solid foundation in algorithms, data structures, OOP, design patterns, and software design principles.
