What you’ll do:

We are looking for a motivated Senior Software Engineer - AI/Data to join us on our journey to grow and achieve our goals. You are the perfect candidate if you are passionate about delivering customer value, technical excellence, and working collaboratively as part of a diverse team. The position is mainly focused on data engineering and AI engineering topics.

With AI at the core of what we do, we build solutions that are fast, smart, and easy to use. These AI-powered solutions turn raw data into engaging, meaningful and actionable insights to guide our customer on their Enterprise Architecture journey, both in a practical and in a pioneer way.

At SAP LeanIX Product and Engineering, we embrace a hybrid remote work model, which allows us the benefits of in-person collaboration along with the flexibility to work from home as needed, however, we expect our employees to come to the office multiple times per week.

The Role:

• Use state of the art GenAI models and techniques to solve real world problems, which were hard to solve previously.

• Work with Data at Scale: Leverage Databricks and Python to build robust data pipelines and analytics workflows that power AI-driven insights. Help shape the data foundation that enables intelligent architecture guidance.

• Focus on Performance: Build scalable, responsive, and accessible solutions to ensure smooth user experience and backend efficiency.

• Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, UI/UX, and other engineering teams, to deliver impactful, customer-centric solutions.

• Enhance Our Tech Stack: Participate in discussions on industry trends and support the evolution of our tech stack and best practices.

• Learn & Share: Grow your skills by collaborating with teammates and contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

What you bring:

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, preferable in backend development.

• Experience in building business applications using modern Generative AI.

• Advanced expertise in Python, with a strong background in developing and deploying LLM applications and AI-powered systems.

• A practical experience in Data Engineering, ideally using Databricks, dbt, or similar tools.

• Familiarity with REST API and GraphQL, designing data flow solutions at scale.

• You strive in agile environments, driving high-impact projects to completion while maintaining a focus on delivering high-quality, scalable code.

• Demonstrate strong collaboration skills, working seamlessly across teams and ensuring clear communication to achieve business and technical goals.

• English language skills, both written and spoken.

Bonus points:

• Experience building AI Agents.

• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (e.g., Promptflow, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and integrating AI/ML models into production systems.

• Experience with LLM fine-tuning and deploying custom AI models at scale.

• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and setting up GitHub CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with Azure, or other cloud platforms for deploying and managing scalable backend applications.

Using modern state-of-the-art AI-powered data analytics, the team aggregates and utilizes the data from our catalog and workspaces across our customer base to derive insights that unlock actionable advice to guide architecture transformation.
