Job Description

We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

What you`ll do:

At SAP, we're integrating state-of-the-art AI technology with our industry-specific data and deep process knowledge to innovate across SAP products & services. Agentic AI based on Large Language Models (LLMs) is transforming how users interact with their business applications. Still, the understanding of structured and unstructured business data such as business data models, business process metadata and documentation is limited in pre-trained LLMs, challenging using agents at scale and for complex tasks. It is SAP's mission to overcome this challenge within the realm of Business AI. Our goal is to provide Knowledge Graphs (KGs) as key differentiators to address LLM challenges like hallucination and compliance, as well as enable the development of the foundation models on structured data to deliver distinctive generative AI solutions to our customers.

The Role:

  • Unique opportunity to contribute to the development of Knowledge Graphs as a source of explicit knowledge across multiple SAP domains.
  • Integrate Knowledge Graphs in downstream tasks such as Generative AI applications to address hallucinations, as well as insight generation applications.
  • Design, develop, and manage the construction of large-scale Knowledge Graphs using business data (structured and unstructured) alongside Knowledge and Data engineering teams and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with various domain specialists and data owners to understand their requirements on Knowledge Graph modeling and Knowledge Graph provisioning.
  • Make critical design decisions regarding the selection and implementation of underlying technologies.
  • Contribute to thought leadership in an entirely new field of Generative AI combined with Knowledge Graphs.
  • Present, discuss, and explain how Knowledge Graphs can benefit business use cases, as well as proactively propose new cases to relevant stakeholders.

What you bring:

  • PhD or Master’s degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, physics, mathematics or other relevant disciplines.
  • 5+ years of professional experience with a deep background in Knowledge Graphs, and their application in a business context.
  • Experience in semantic / knowledge modeling.
  • Working proficiency in the RDF Knowledge Graph technology stack (RDF, OWL, SHACL, SPARQL) and in property graphs-based solutions (e.g., neo4j).
  • Experience mapping business operations into clear data models and organized schemas.
  • Experience with Enterprise Knowledge Graph implementations and architecture, as well as knowledge of the current vendor ecosystem and open-source triple stores.
  • Knowledge of latest research and development trends in Knowledge Graphs, e.g. Generative AI and Large Language Models, KG generation and KG embedding approaches.
  • Solid knowledge in Artificial Intelligence and data science, more specifically graph based approaches.
  • Experience in Data Engineering with a hands-on approach to solving data challenges.
  • Fluent in Python and the ability to convert your ideas into productive code.
  • Ability to advise diverse stakeholders on how to apply an enterprise Knowledge Graph to business use cases.
  • Developer experience with any SAP Application and its underlying data models is a plus.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-cultural teams.
