Key Areas of Responsibility and Tasks
Within the Customer Renewal Centre (CRC), our people and our culture are central to our success! Public Sector Commercial Renewal Specialist demonstrate skills and knowledge in renewal strategy, deal architecture, customer negotiation and internal navigation of commercial and legal stakeholders.
We are looking for a highly skilled and strategic Public Sector Commercial Renewal Specialist to play a pivotal role in protecting, retaining and shaping SAP’s long term enterprise renewal base. This role will support Public Sector engagements in Indonesia and will be leading commercial coordination and engagement for on-premise RFP processes and partnering with internal stakeholders to position long-term cloud transition opportunities.
This role focuses on supporting complex procurement environments within the Public Sector and ensuring that commercial engagements are structured with a forward-looking transformation strategy. The role will also collaborate within renewal teams to support cloud renewal opportunities where hybrid or transformation scenarios emerge within overlapping accounts.
The position is designed as a commercial and strategic individual contributor role, bridging on-premise engagements with future cloud adoption pathways.
Key Responsibilities
Public Sector RFP Support
• Lead commercial coordination for on-premise RFP engagements within Public Sector accounts in Indonesia.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to structure competitive and compliant responses aligned with customer procurement requirements.
• Support commercial structuring and internal governance throughout the RFP cycles.
Cloud Transition Positioning
• Partner with Sales and Customer Success teams to embed a structured cloud transition pathway within on-premise engagements.
• Identify opportunities to position customers for future cloud transformation, where applicable.
• Ensure proposals are aligned with longer-term cloud strategy and customer lifecycle considerations.
Cloud Renewal Collaboration
• Internal collaboration to support cloud renewal opportunities in accounts where hybrid environments or transformation programs are in place.
• Help ensure continuity between on-premise engagements and future subscription or cloud renewal cycles.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work across Sales, Customer Success, Deal Support and other internal teams to support aligned commercial engagement and account strategy.
• Contribute to coordinated execution of Public Sector opportunities across Indonesia.
Scope Clarification
• This role focuses on commercial engagement and RFP support within Public Sector accounts.
• Operational billing activities, including split-billing processes, are not within the scope of this role and will remain under the responsibilities of O2I and Cash Collection teams.
Qualifications
Experience
• Minimum 6–10 years of experience in renewals, enterprise account management, deal structuring, or commercial strategy—preferably in the enterprise software or SaaS space.
• Familiarity with Public Sector procurement processes and RFP environments is preferred.
• Understanding of enterprise software licensing models and cloud transformation journeys.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple internal teams.
• Strong organizational and coordination skills to manage multiple complex engagements.
• Proven track record of negotiating and closing complex subscription contracts or the software or cloud industry.
Education
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related disciplines.
• MBA or relevant postgraduates qualification is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Equivalent comparable experience.
Skills and Competencies
• Commercial and deal structuring awareness.
• Cross-functional collaboration.
• Stakeholders engagement, excellent communication and Interpersonal skills.
• Strategic thinking in hybrid and cloud transformation environments.
• Early-stage renewal engagement and planning with a forward-looking, risk-mitigation mindset.
• Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
• Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g. Harmony Quote, Gainsight, etc.) and familiarity with renewal management platforms.
