YOUR FUTURE ROLE


We are seeking a dedicated (Senior) Category Buyer Software to join our Software Category Team, which is part of the Global Procurement Organization.

  • Wide-Ranging Responsibilities: Your role will involve procuring various types of software, including client, server, network, infrastructure, cloud/SaaS, and others.
  • Business Value Enabler: You will act as a trusted business value enabler for all SAP business areas, representing the software category within SAP’s global procurement organization.
  • Contract Management & Supplier Collaboration: You will negotiate and manage large-scale contracts while working closely with our valued suppliers and overseeing contract management for your cases.
  • Supplier Management & Strategy: In close alignment with the Category Manager, you will drive supplier management, procurement strategies, and strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Innovation & Optimization: You will seek opportunities for improvement, innovation, and cost savings by conducting market analyses and benchmarking to gain market insights and negotiation advantages.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Stakeholder Management & Negotiation Skills: You are highly motivated and bring strong stakeholder management skills along with excellent negotiation expertise. You excel at setting clear priorities and managing diverse demands in an international, virtual environment.
  • Team Player with Communication Strengths: Collaboration is key for you – you demonstrate a proactive, solution-oriented mindset and foster team success through outstanding communication.
  • Experience & Expertise: You have more than three years of experience in strategic sourcing with a focus on the software industry. Knowledge of common licensing metrics and the ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into actionable sourcing activities are advantageous.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English is required for this role.

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Software Procurement Team is an integral part of SAP’s Global Procurement Organization, driving the definition and execution of global procurement strategies. In close collaboration with business stakeholders, the legal department, finance, and controlling, we develop innovative approaches to supplier management and strategic sourcing.

In your day-to-day role, you will work closely with the Category Manager Software and our Software Category Team based in Prague. You’ll join a highly motivated, dynamic, and collaborative team that prioritizes teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.
