What you`ll do

Large Language Models (LLMs) are transforming Machine Learning but pose challenges in business applications due to their limited understanding of structured and unstructured business data such as business data models, business process metadata and documentation, which slows the development progress. It is SAP's mission to overcome these challenges within the realm of Business AI. Our goal is to provide Knowledge Graphs (KG) as key differentiators to address LLM challenges like hallucination and compliance and to deliver distinctive generative AI solutions to our customers.

The Role

• Unique opportunity to contribute to the development of AI applications based on our SAP Knowledge Graph
• Design and implement AI-based solutions with Large Language Models, neural networks and other machine learning methods.
• Conduct experiments and perform rigorous evaluations to measure the performance and effectiveness of the developed models and solutions end-to-end.
• Interact with stakeholders across different lines of business (LoB) at SAP, understand and interpret their requirements, draft and explain solutions and support along the whole lifecycle.
• Guide junior project members or students in projects and theses.
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in the field of Deep Learning, Foundational Models, and Generative AI.
• Contribute to thought leadership using Generative AI and Knowledge Graphs in the business contexts.
  
  

What you bring

• Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Artificial Intelligence, physics, mathematics, or other relevant disciplines. PhD is a plus.
• 5+ years of related professional experience incl. hands-on experience with Machine Learning in a business context.
• Deep understanding of Machine Learning algorithms and techniques, experience with neural networks such as Large Language Models or transformer models including their application in a business context.
• Deep proficiency in Python and experience with ML libraries such as PyTorch, Langchain, Huggingface, or similar.
• Experience with Knowledge Graphs, including graph machine learning, and related technologies (e.g., RDF, SPARQL, property graphs, cypher) is a plus.
• Experience in the ERP or CRM domain is a plus.
• Curiosity and interest to experiment and adopt and implement new technologies and ideas.
• Strong communication, collaboration and leadership skills, experience with agile methodology and an ability to work effectively in distributed, cross-cultural teams.
