What you`ll do:

We are seeking a Senior AI Developer to join our Digital Platforms team, the group responsible for the architecture, engineering, and evolution of the company’s core public-facing web platforms and digital experiences.

This team builds and operates the foundational systems that power our websites, digital services, and customer interactions at scale. As part of this effort, we are expanding our platforms to incorporate AI-powered capabilities that enhance digital experiences, improve operational efficiency, and unlock new ways for users to interact with our services.

In this role, you will design and implement AI-driven capabilities that integrate directly into our web platforms and services. You will work with AI technologies developed internally within SAP, while also evaluating and integrating AI capabilities from Adobe and other major enterprise technology providers to deliver intelligent features across our digital ecosystem.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on bringing AI into production within large-scale web platforms, balancing innovation with reliability, scalability, and responsible AI practices.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Design and develop AI-powered services and platform capabilities that support the company’s public-facing websites and digital experiences.
  • Integrate intelligent capabilities into the core digital platform infrastructure used by multiple web applications and services.
  • Ensure AI features meet enterprise standards for performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
  • Work closely with teams developing AI technologies within SAP to integrate internal AI capabilities into digital platform services.
  • Help operationalize internally developed AI services so they can be safely and efficiently consumed by web applications and digital experiences.
  • Align implementations with enterprise platform standards and SAP technology strategy.
  • Evaluate and integrate AI capabilities from Adobe and other major enterprise software platforms that support the company’s digital ecosystem.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage vendor-provided AI capabilities to enhance personalization, content generation, digital engagement, and user interaction.
  • Design architectures that allow internal and external AI services to work together within the broader web platform.
  • Build and deploy production-grade AI features such as:
    • Conversational interfaces and digital assistants
    • Intelligent search and knowledge retrieval
    • Content generation and summarization
    • Personalization and recommendation systems
    • AI-assisted workflows for digital teams
  • Implement architectures such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and AI orchestration services.
  • Ensure AI implementations adhere to enterprise requirements for security, privacy, compliance, and responsible AI use.
  • Implement monitoring, evaluation, and observability for AI-powered services running in production.

You will report to the head of development & engineering for Digital Platforms within the Demand Generation organization of Corporate Processes and Information Technology (CP&IT).

Core job requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience building scalable web platforms or digital services
  • 4+ years of experience working with AI or machine learning systems in production
  • Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript
  • Experience building APIs and microservices that support large-scale web platforms and enabling MCP
  • Experience integrating AI capabilities into customer-facing applications or digital services
  • Experience working with cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Proficient communicating in English; secondary language is a plus but not required
  • Willingness to learn.
