Are you a student with a keen eye for detail and a passion for unraveling the complexities of supply chain algorithms? Do you have a strong interest in supply chain management and aspire to make a tangible, positive impact in an evolving field of technology? In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with seasoned supply chain planning experts to address the most intricate and challenging problems that arise in contemporary supply chains. By focusing on the comparison of different supply planning runs, you will help enhance the explainability of complex algorithms used in SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP). Your contributions will play a pivotal role in preparing SAP IBP for the next generation of supply chain solutions, making them more transparent, accessible, and understandable.

What you bring

  • Student (f/m/d) at a university or a university of applied sciences
  • Preferred field(s) of study: Computer Sciences, Mathematics, Physics
  • Enthusiasm for programming and practical experience in it
  • Excellent programming competences and first experiences with version control systems, e.g. Git
  • First experiences or strong interest in supply chain management
  • A creative, analytical, and solution-oriented mind-set
  • Motivation and result driven attitude
  • Good teamwork and communication skills
  • Fluent in verbal and written English

Meet your team

SAP is investing in Munich and expanding its collaboration with universities and the ecosystem. Within SAP Labs Munich, the newly initiated Industry-University Collaboration hub has a focus on applied research and co-innovation with universities, especially TU Munich, to create positive impact on the economy and society.

In your daily research and development tasks you will work closely together with the AI leads in SAP Integrated Business Planning for Supply Chain (SAP IBP). SAP IBP is SAP’s next generation cloud-based supply chain planning solution with several hundreds of customers. It is a fast-growing SAP cloud product enabling our customers to react quickly to changing customer demands and expectations, as well as unexpected changes to their supply chain due to external events or shortage. It is built on SAP HANA and the ABAP technology stack using the UI5-based SAP Fiori design system by beautiful minds across the world to deliver innovations for Supply Chain Planning.


Your set of application documents should contain a cover letter, a resume in table form, school leaving certificates, certificate of enrollment, current university transcript of records, copies of any academic degrees already earned, and if available, references from former employers (including internships). Please also describe your experience and skills in foreign languages and computer programs / programming languages.
