Sales Manager – West Africa, SAP Middle East and Africa South

What you’ll build:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Manager to lead the sales execution of SAP’s ERP and Business Suite or applications in the West Africa region. This includes overseeing a team of Account Executives responsible for driving new business and expanding adoption of SAP’s portfolio.

The role will lead the business across Enterprise, Corporate and Partner Driven territories.You will play a critical part in enabling cloud transformation and expanding SAP’s footprint across both new and existing enterprise customers with SAP's Business Suite. You will be accountable for your team’s performance, territory planning, pipeline development, and deal execution. The role requires a combination of people leadership, operational discipline, and strong enterprise sales acumen to drive sustainable growth in a fast-evolving and high growth region.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Technology, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of enterprise software sales experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role, including team leadership, performance management, and talent development.
  • Proven track record in selling SaaS/cloud-based solutions, ideally within business transformation or enterprise architecture.
  • Strong experience navigating complex enterprise sales cycles and managing executive customer relationships.
  • Deep knowledge of the West Africa enterprise software market.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages relevant to the West Africa region

Team Leadership & Performance Management

  • Lead a team of Account Executives across MEAS, driving achievement of revenue, profitability, and customer success targets.
  • Own sales execution from qualification to closure across the region, ensuring sustainable growth through both new customer acquisition and renewals.
  • Manage the pipeline proactively, ensuring forecast accuracy, strong pipeline hygiene, and continuous deal progression through all sales stages.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching tailored to individual strengths and development areas.

Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Ensure effective territory coverage, account planning, and pipeline development to support short-term results and long-term growth.
  • Maintain full ownership of forecasting accuracy, pipeline health, and sales reporting within CRM and other systems.
  • Oversee end-to-end deal execution — from early-stage qualification to commercial negotiation and contract signature.
  • Guide the team in engaging with C-level stakeholders, driving strategic value discussions around business and process transformation.

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong executive relationships within strategic accounts to influence transformation agendas and business priorities.
  • Serve as a senior advisor to customers across all phases of engagement.
  • Promote long-term customer success by driving adoption, consumption, and measurable value realisation of the SAP portfolio.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with pre-sales, marketing, customer success, delivery, and partner teams to deliver a seamless and value-driven customer experience.

Preferred Attributes

  • Knowledge of SAP’s Cloud portfolio (SAP S4 ERP, SuccessFactors, Ariba to name a few) or similar transformation platforms.
  • Deep understanding of digital transformation, business process optimisation, and enterprise applications.
  • Experience with structured sales methodologies (e.g., MEDDPICC, Challenger).
  • Strong capability in pipeline management, forecasting, and CRM discipline.
