Purpose and Objectives
SAP Government Security (GS2) is part of the Sovereign Services & Delivery, enabling SAPs Sovereign Cloud.
GS2 ensures SAP’s fulfilment of regulations for government security, critical infrastructure, and telecommunications compliance globally, thus enabling SAP performing business in regulated industries and markets.
All mandate holders for national security (Security Cleared Single Points of Contact for National Security Supervisory Authorities) are in the reporting line to GS2.
Education and Qualification/Skills and Competencies
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Risk Management, Security Studies, Intelligence, Public Policy, International Relations, Law, or a related field.
- Professional certifications advantageous such as:
- Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP)
- ISO 31000 Risk Management Certification
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Security Clearance appropriate to role and country
Regulatory Expertise
- Expertise in regulatory and governance frameworks relevant to national security and cloud (e.g. Security Protection Act (2018:585) (Säkerhetsskyddslag), Protective Security Ordinance (2021:955) (Säkerhetsskyddsförordning)
- Knowledge of geopolitical and threat landscape analysis including cyber, espionage, economic security, and hybrid threats
- Understanding of legal and ethical considerations in national security operations
Public Sector & Defence Experience
- Hands-on experience working within or alongside:
- Ministry of Defence or equivalent defence departments
- National intelligence agencies
- Government security or policy-making bodies
- Armed forces or defence contractors
- Experience in developing or implementing risk management frameworks tailored to sensitive government or defence programs.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with senior government stakeholders, policy advisors, and operational units.
Analytical & Strategic Thinking
- Strong analytical skills for threat and risk analysis in high-stakes environments.
- Ability to apply both qualitative and quantitative risk assessment methods.
- Track record of supporting strategic decision-making through robust risk forecasting, scenario planning, and mitigation strategies.
Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Excellent communication skills for briefings, risk reporting, and strategic advisories to senior leadership.
- Experience liaising with cross-departmental teams, international partners, and regulatory bodies.
- Skilled in translating technical or classified risk issues into actionable policy recommendations.

Expectation and Tasks
GS2 enables business in heavily regulated markets, managing SAPs Government Security and Critical Infrastructure worldwide. GS2 understands customers national security risk position and translates risk into actionable requirements, processes and controls. Thus, this role is expected to fulfill the following tasks:
- Act as National Security Advisor within the market unit SWEDEN and the Region EMEA/MEE
- Manage SAPs Government Accreditations in SWEDEN
- Manage Supervisory Authority Interactions for Secrecy & Critical Infrastructure
- Understand Customers National Security Risks – across the Nordics Region (SWE, FIN, NOR, DEN)
- Translate National Security Requirements into actionable processes & controls
- Enable SAPs Sovereign Cloud via customer and supervisory authortiy interactions
- Perform National Security Governance and Risk Management
- Support the Global Customer Officer in enabling key and strategic deals involving classified, regulated, or sovereignty-sensitive customer environments.
- Provide early-stage advisory to sales, presales, and account teams on government security and secrecy requirements, ensuring deals are aligned with national and regional regulatory frameworks.
- Follow closely GS2-related deals in the region and coordinate with LSOs to obtain regular updates, escalate risks and define mitigation strategies. Help to unblock deals while maintaining full compliance with SAP's GS2 framework and local legal requirements.
- Contribute to executive briefings by monitoring key regulatory developments in the region, gathering key analysis about regulated industries stakes and challenges and their implications for customers and business opportunities.
- Represent EMEA/MEE secrecy matters in business enablement discussions, ensuring regional specifics are properly reflected in deals to drive approval processes and support their qualification and structuring.
- Build and maintain a trusted advisor relationship with the Global Customer Officer for Business Enablement, providing regular updates on the regional pipeline, emerging risks, and regulatory developments impacting deal execution.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of GS2 business enablement processes, sharing regional best practices, lessons learned, and customer feedback with the GS2 organization.
- Engage with customers, government authorities, and partners as required to clarify secrecy expectations, negotiate security annexes, and demonstrate SAP's capability to deliver under GS2 conditions.
Work Experience
- Extensive experience (7–10+ years) in risk management within national security, defence, intelligence, or public sector environments.
- Deep understanding of national and international security policy frameworks, doctrines, and strategies.
