What you’ll build:

  1. Customer-Focused Outcomes: As a Senior SAP AI Engineer (f/m/d), you will be a key driver of customer value delivery, translating SAP AI architectural blueprints into fully functional, scalable, and production-ready solutions. Specifically, you will:
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions through workshops, prototyping, and iterative delivery
  • Collaborate with customers across the delivery lifecycle (workshops, reviews, UAT) to refine and optimize solutions
  • Design and implement production-grade AI solutions on SAP AI Foundation, covering data, models, APIs, front-end integration, agent-to-agent communication workflows
  • Deliver Generative AI use cases on SAP BTP (e.g., RAG pipelines, chatbots, document processing, AI-driven workflows)
  • Build and manage SAP AI Core pipelines, including training, model serving, and monitoring for production readiness
  • Develop conversational and agent-based AI solutions (e.g., SAP Joule) to enable natural language interaction with SAP processes
  • Build end-to-end SAP applications using CAP and Fiori, creating intuitive, AI-augmented user experiences
  • Design and orchestrate agent-based workflows across SAP and non-SAP systems for intelligent automation
  1. Functional Contributor for the Team: Beyond individual delivery, you will play an important role as a senior technical voice and enabler within the engineering team. Specifically, you will:
  • Define and promote SAP AI development standards, including coding practices, reusable components, and deployment guidelines
  • Conduct code reviews and peer assessments, providing high-quality feedback to improve solution quality and team capability
  • Mentor and support engineers through knowledge sharing, pair programming, and technical coaching
  • Contribute to pre-sales by developing and presenting PoCs and technical demos showcasing SAP AI capabilities
  • Support Agile delivery processes (e.g., sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation) with strong technical input
  • Stay current with SAP AI and broader AI ecosystem trends, driving continuous innovation within the team

What you bring:

  1. Education & Track Record
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 7+ years of software development experience, including 5+ years in SAP BTP development and/or AI/ML engineering in enterprise SAP environments
  • Proven track record of delivering production-grade SAP AI solutions across full project lifecycles (design, development, deployment) using modern frameworks (e.g., CAP, Fiori, Integration Suite)
  • Professional fluency in German and English (C1+)
  1. Core Architecture & Engineering Skills
  • Solid understanding of SAP architecture principles and proven ability to design robust integration architectures
  • Strong Python skills for AI/ML development (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face, scikit-learn, pandas, NumPy) in SAP AI Core environments
  • Solid experience in SAP BTP development and subaccount management
  • Proficiency in SAP CAP (Node.js/Java) for building scalable, cloud-native applications and AI-enabled services
  • Experience with SAP Fiori/UI5 to develop and extend AI-powered user interfaces
  • Understanding of S/4HANA extensibility patterns (side-by-side, in-app, key-user) aligned with Clean Core principles
  • Strong API development skills (REST, OpenAPI, versioning) and SAP API Management
  1. SAP AI & Agentic AI Skills
  • SAP AI, Agentic AI & Generative AI Expertise
    • Hands-on experience with SAP AI Foundation, including model deployment, serving, and workflow orchestration
    • Experience with SAP Generative AI Hub for managing LLM providers (e.g., Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Vertex AI)
  • Agentic AI & Multi-Agent Systems
    • Strong knowledge of agentic AI frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI)
    • Experience designing multi-agent architectures (task orchestration, state management, delegation, error handling)
    • Ability to build conversational AI systems with context management, memory, and multi-turn interactions
    • Familiarity with SAP Joule integration and extending it with custom skills and agents
  • Generative AI & LLM Engineering
    • Expert-level prompt engineering skills (e.g., few-shot learning, prompt chaining, context optimization)
    • Hands-on experience with RAG architectures (chunking, embeddings, vector search, retrieval strategies)
  1. Data & Integration Skills
  • Proficiency in SAP BDC, including data product design, data integration, and use of Datasphere data in AI pipelines
  • Experience with SAP Integration Suite (e.g., Cloud Integration, API Management, Event Mesh) to connect AI services with SAP processes
  • Proficiency in SAP Cloud Connector and Destination Service for secure connectivity between BTP and backend systems
  • Experience with SAP OData services and RAP for exposing and consuming S/4HANA data in AI-enabled applications
  1. AI Quality & DevOps Skills
  • Experience with SAP AI Core MLOps capabilities (e.g., training pipelines, model management, and inference endpoints)
  • Proficiency in SAP AI Launchpad for monitoring and managing AI scenarios across BTP environments
  • Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines on SAP BTP (e.g., SAP CI/CD service, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
  • Knowledge of SAP BTP security best practices (e.g., OAuth2/XSUAA, secret management, encryption, Responsible AI compliance)
  1. Soft Skills, Project Management Skills & Leadership Skills
  • Strong communication skills, able to explain complex SAP AI concepts to both technical and business stakeholders
  • Strong ownership mindset, ensuring quality, reliability, and timely delivery
