What you’ll build
As a Principal Enterprise Architect, you’ll lead enterprise-wide architecture engagements for customers transforming with RISE with SAP. You’ll align business strategy with target architecture, guide adoption across solution areas, and drive measurable business outcomes using SAP’s value framework.
You’ll act as a transformation partner to senior IT leaders, influencing architectural decisions, shaping roadmaps, and ensuring consistent application of Clean Core and SAP best practices across complex landscapes.
You will:
- Lead enterprise architecture strategy and roadmap definition
- Partner with CIOs and senior IT leaders on RISE-led transformations
- Drive value realization through solution adoption and capability consumption, leveraging and thriving on the integrated toolchain adoption (LeanIX, Walkme, Signavio)
- Align stakeholders around KPIs, value drivers, and success plans
- Identify and mitigate architectural and adoption risks
- Accelerate the adoption of SAP BTP and innovation capabilities
- Lead SAP Business AI strategy for the customer -- drive adoption of Joule and embedded AI capabilities across S/4HANA and BTP; build AI use case roadmaps aligned to business outcomes; influence customer decisions on premium AI licensing and consumption
- Document and share successful architectural patterns and lessons learned from customer engagements, contributing to the organization’s knowledge base
- Strengthen architecture standards: Actively participate in defining and refining SAP’s architectural standards, best practices and decision frameworks through peer engagement and CoP contributions
What you bring
- 10+ years in enterprise architecture or customer-facing transformation roles
- Extensive experience in Public Sector industry, particularly with state and local governments, higher education and federal government customers.
- Deep knowledge of SAP EA framework, RISE with SAP, and Clean Core principles
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA and complex hybrid landscapes
- Strong executive communication, influencing, and advisory skills
- Proven consulting mindset and business acumen
- Collaborative mindset: demonstrated willingness to share expertise and learn from peers through active participation in team initiatives
- Documentation discipline: Ability to capture complex architectural insights in formats accessible to colleagues across experience levels
- Peer mentoring experience: Track record of supporting junior/peer-level colleagues in developing their capabilities

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted annual combined range for this position is 194100-411600USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
