Job Description

We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

What you`ll do:
As a (Junior) Full-Stack Developer (f/m/d) for Strategic Projects, you will join a technology-focused team dedicated to shaping future generations of SAP software. In this role, you will work on innovative and strategic projects at the forefront of technology initiated by SAP's CTO or other executives. You will leverage your strong software development skills to build lighthouse projects whilst showcasing your technical excellence and expertise to deliver meaningful impact and high-quality results. You’ll be able to quickly design proof-of-concepts to actively develop, challenge and improve state-of-the-art software. You will be part of an agile team that includes a diverse mix of team members, such as developers, architects and designers. In this collaborative environment, we’ll continuously explore advancements in AI and other upcoming technologies.

What you bring:

  • Strong programming skills (e.g., in TypeScript, Go, Rust) and strong competencies in computer science including data structures, algorithms, design patterns and software design, as well as the ability to analyze and solve issues in existing and new code
  • Very good knowledge of state-of-the-art web technologies, including Node.js and TypeScript, and proficiency in at least one modern JavaScript framework (such as React, Vue, or Svelte) is mandatory
  • Degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related field
  • Practical Experience in designing secure, scalable AI-native applications that combine traditional software components and agentic AI capabilities to solve complex business problems
  • Very good understanding of cloud programming and infrastructures, including designing, documenting and implementing APIs (REST, GraphQL), relational databases as well as in microservice architectures and distributed systems
  • Good knowledge in cloud infrastructure (BTP or Hyperscaler)
  • Knowledge in Machine Learning and setup/maintenance of pipelines is a plus
  • Knowledge of agile software development processes and experience with development processes driven by regular code reviews
  • Strong interest in exploring new technologies and understanding how they can best address challenges as well as familiarity with recent technology trends
  • Strong communication skills to present technical ideas to stakeholders and discuss approaches with the team
  • Fluent English and German language skills - both written and verbal
  • You should bring first professional work experience in a similar role, demonstrating responsibility in development projects

We are looking for a reliable, positive, open-minded, and collaborative personality with strong teamwork skills, who is determined to achieve goals on time, and possesses the ability to work independently while prioritizing effectively.

Meet your team:
In the Strategic Projects team, we are driving forward SAP’s development excellence by implementing cutting-edge solutions. In addition, we provide expertise with tech evaluations and develop proof-of-concepts for strategic technology topics. Our team consists of about 60 colleagues who are students, young professionals, and experienced professionals in the areas of software development, design, project management, and team/management assistance. We work in teams that are mainly located in Potsdam and Walldorf and collaborate closely with other SAP Teams to realize our mission.

Your application documents should contain a cover letter reviewing your experiences and your interest, your CV, copies of your degrees (university, apprenticeship, high school) and copies of references from your former employers or managers (if available).
