Job Description

We help the world run better

At SAP, we enable you to bring out your best. Our company culture is focused on collaboration and a shared passion to help the world run better. How? We focus every day on building the foundation for tomorrow and creating a workplace that embraces differences, values flexibility, and is aligned to our purpose-driven and future-focused work. We offer a highly collaborative, caring team environment with a strong focus on learning and development, recognition for your individual contributions, and a variety of benefit options for you to choose from.

Summary

The Corporate Processes & IT (CPIT) organization is responsible for evolving and executing SAP’s IT strategy. We are applying our expertise in technology and business processes by driving the internal adoption of standard applications that support end-users in the execution and re-engineering of their processes in all lines of business, always putting a strong focus on end-user centricity. It is our objective to accelerate co-innovation with development and extend the use of SAP standard products within SAP, shifting the focus from maintaining a heavily customized environment to optimizing our processes on top of standard services. By combining technological understanding with business know-how and using our own innovative solutions as the earliest adopter, we ensure zero distance between business and technology and act as ultimate proof point in SAP’s transition to a cloud company.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced IT Architecture Senior Specialist to join our delivery team in the Private Cloud Engineering organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in development and architecture design, with at least 8+ years of relevant experience.

In the Private Cloud Engineering organization, we are focusing on the development of solutions for our external and internal stakeholders to ensure a smooth, transparent, and automated way of selling, configuring and provisioning of landscapes to SAP’s private cloud customers.

What you will do

  • Own and steer the technical architecture of our solutions end-to-end
  • Make architectural decisions with a strong emphasis on scalability, maintainability, and automation
  • Collaborate closely with the Product Manager and Product Owner to align technical direction with business priorities
  • Communicate architectural concepts clearly and provide hands-on technical guidance to the development team
  • Work cross-functionally with product owners, architects, and developers across workstreams to deliver integrated, end-to-end solutions
  • Participate in refinement sessions with business stakeholders and assess the technical feasibility of business requirements
  • Translate & decompose business and IT requirements into actionable development tasks
  • Act as the technical lead for the development team, guiding implementation and ensuring best practices
  • Actively contribute to Agile / SAFe ceremonies, including PI and sprint planning, concept and refinement sessions, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives

What you bring

  • 8+ years of experience as an Architect or Lead Developer with strong architectural design expertise
  • Fluent English skills, written and spoken
  • Proven delivery track record in complex software projects
  • Solid understanding of architectural design patterns and scalable, automated system design
  • Experience working in an agile environment, preferably using SAFe; familiarity with Jira
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly learn new domains
  • Clear communication skills and a structured, goal-oriented working style
  • Proactive, hands-on mindset with a strong sense of ownership and teamwork
  • Willingness to challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvement
  • Technical experience with RAP, ABAP / ABAP OO, SAP Fiori, UI5, and OData
  • Experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), including CAP-based application development, integrations, and cloud-native services, is a plus
  • Beneficial: Knowledge of SAP Private Cloud, RISE with SAP, and SAP system architecture
