About the Role:
The Industry Expert – High Tech plays a critical role within SAP’s Global Industry Business Unit. This role is responsible for developing and executing a global go-to-market (GTM) strategy for the High-Tech industry, driving customer success across the Customer Value Journey (CVJ), enabling scalable expertise, and fostering thought leadership across SAP’s global ecosystem. As a trusted advisor and the voice of the customer, this individual will help influence product innovation, support key accounts, and ensure long-term business impact through strategic customer engagements and industry communities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Industry Go-To-Market Strategy and Plan
- Own the global Industry Strategy and business plan, aligning with regional teams to meet budget and growth goals.
- Develop and execute a competitive global Industry GTM Strategy and Plan.
- Collaborate with key partners on joint GTM plans and support strategic account planning.
- Boost GTM motions through strategic partnerships for SAP Business Suite journeys (RISE and GROW).
- Shape and review the Global Business/Investment Plan to drive competitive growth.
- Identify macro-level growth opportunities and industry trends to inform regional execution strategies.
2. Industry Engagement with Customers
- Serve as the global “blackbelt” expert within the Industry Expert Team, engaging directly with customers in strategic 1:1 or 1: many formats.
- Sponsor and support customer Business Suite (RISE/GROW) journeys across all phases of the CVJ.
- Provide C-level support and secure anchor deals to elevate customer satisfaction and adoption.
- Deliver industry-specific customer value assets such as showcases, demos, prototypes, innovations, and references.
- Act as a key contact for strategic accounts and maintain high-value C-level relationships globally.
- Leverage partner capabilities aligned to go-to-market priorities.
- Support 3rd-party and SAP-led marketing events with content and thought leadership.
- Lead global sponsorships and innovation workshops to align SAP’s industry vision with execution.
3. Industry Expertise Scaling
- Scale industry expertise through development and distribution of global content, enablement tools, and structured sales planning.
- Share best practices and lessons to support Customer Success growth.
- Enable internal Customer Success (CS) and Product Management (PM) teams, and build strong GTM partnerships across global and regional teams.
- Guide development of demos, learning journeys, reference architectures, and domain-specific content.
- Collaborate with Industry Marketing to amplify messaging through events, media, and analysts.
- Support industry kick-off meetings and account planning sessions with domain expertise.
4. Voice of the Customer & Customer Communities
- Gather and prioritize global customer feedback to influence SAP product roadmaps and align with market needs.
- Sponsor co-innovation initiatives with customers.
- Lead global industry communities and customer councils to drive adoption of SAP Business Suite, AI, Data Cloud, and industry-specific solutions.
- Represent SAP to global stakeholders, including analysts, to enhance brand credibility and thought leadership.
- Host and contribute to flagship SAP industry events (e.g., FSI Forum, Energy & Utilities Conference).
- Centralize feedback and value realization to improve innovation and product development.
- Drive community engagement programs to ensure consistent advocacy, messaging, and customer value.
- Develop global renewal strategies and collaborate with regional CROs on customer-specific execution.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in the High-Tech industry or enterprise software, with strong exposure to GTM strategy, customer engagement, and business planning.
- Proven experience in customer-facing executive roles, preferably with global scope.
- Strong understanding of SAP solutions, including RISE, GROW, Business Suite, and supporting technologies (AI, Data Cloud).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills at the C-level.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence across a matrixed organization.
- Strategic thinker with hands-on execution ability in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 194,100 - 411,600 (USD) USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
