As part of an empowered lean team setup, we are seeking an Engineering Manager with a strong product builder mindset to build and scale a design‑led AI product from the ground up. This is a hands‑on leadership role where speed, ownership, and pragmatic decision‑making are critical. You will own architecture, execution, hiring, and engineering culture, while remaining deeply involved in building and shipping the core AI platform. The role involves leading high‑performing teams to develop intelligent, scalable, cloudnative platforms and AIpowered mobile applications. You will guide end‑to‑end architecture across mobile (iOS, Android, crossplatform), backend, and AI/ML systems, establish strong MLOps, CI/CD, and observability practices, and optimize solutions for cost, performance, and scalability.

Success in this role is measured by faster product delivery, resilient platforms, responsible AI adoption, and tangible improvements in customer experience and business outcomes.

What you`ll do:

  • Define the technical vision for mobile and AI integration across iOS, Android, and backend services to deliver high‑quality, intelligent applications.
  • Lead development of AI features including voice assistants, recommendations, generative AI experiences, and edge AI capabilities.
  • Own the engineering roadmap, sprint planning, execution, and release cycles, collaborating with product, founders, and sales to translate business needs into technical priorities.
  • Drive architecture across SAP Fiori (SAPUI5, Fiori Elements), ABAP/ABAP OO on S/4HANA, SAP MDK, and modern mobile frameworks using native (Swift, Kotlin) and cross‑platform (React Native, Flutter) technologies.
  • Promote UI/UX excellence through close collaboration with design and product teams.
  • Guide architectural decisions for mobile frameworks, AI model integration, cloud services, APIs, and distributed systems, including microservices and event‑driven platforms.
  • Ensure applications meet enterprise standards for performance, security, scalability, accessibility, privacy, and data governance.
  • Define strategy for on‑device vs cloud AI inference, optimizing latency and cost.
  • Implement responsible AI practices covering fairness, explainability, privacy, and user trust.
  • Establish strong MLOps, CI/CD, monitoring, analytics, A/B testing, and cloud‑first practices using containers, Kubernetes, serverless, and managed services.

What you bring:

  • 8–14+ years of engineering experience with 3+ years in people management and an ownership mindset.
  • Strong background in mobile development (iOS, Android, or cross‑platform) and cloud‑native architectures including containers, Kubernetes, and microservices.
  • Proficiency in Swift, Kotlin, Java, or Python, with ability to actively contribute to coding and architectural discussions.
  • Solid understanding and hands‑on exposure to machine learning systems, AI frameworks, model lifecycle, and deployment.
  • Own technical direction across SAP Fiori, ABAP/ABAP OO on S/4HANA, SAP MDK, and mobile solutions.
  • Experience with CI/CD, MLOps, system design, APIs, and data architecture, along with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to hire, scale teams and systems, establish engineering best practices, execute in ambiguous early‑stage and high growth environments, support customer pilots, and balance velocity with long‑term technical health.
