What you’ll build
Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS) in SAP S/4HANA empowers companies to easily create feasible and optimized production plans and procurement proposals. PP/DS performs finite capacity planning, which means it considers real-world limitations and constraints, such as available machinery capacity or raw materials.
To accelerate the improvement and modernization of our solution, we are establishing a new development team in Budapest following the Harmonized Product Operating Model.
We are looking for a development manager to build up and lead a new Empowered Product Team partnering closely with the teams of the PP/DS and IBP ecosystem.
- Take full ownership of development and engineering progress, ensuring accountability, alignment, and successful delivery of our product
- Provide expert technical guidance and implement best practices to drive efficient and effective product development process
- Lead with a hands-on approach, leveraging deep technical expertise as a former engineer to inspire, guide, and support the team
- Actively facilitate and channel solutions for complex technical problems, fostering collaboration and innovative problem-solving
- Foster the development of high-quality software that is secure, robust, scalable, and maintainable, meeting the quality assurance process and product standards
- Coach and mentor engineering team members, cultivating a strong culture of continuous learning, accountability, and professional growth
What you bring
We expect
- University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience in software engineering
- Leadership experience (either technical or people management)
- 5 years of experience with ABAP
- Experience with SAP ECC or S/4HANA
- Experience with at least one object-oriented language
- Willingness to learn new technologies if necessary
- Eagerness to tackle challenging tasks
- Ability to work well with other team members across different locations
- A solution-oriented attitude in a highly innovative work environment
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Excellent English language skills written and oral
Preferred skills:
- Familiarity with supply chain management concepts, IBP, APO or similar products

Our organization is responsible for the development and enhancement of Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS) within SAP S/4HANA. You will join a dynamic new scrum team which will contribute to the success of SAP’s solutions around Supply Chain Planning.

You will collaborate closely with other scrum teams and product management across various locations, including Budapest, Walldorf, and Bangalore.
