What you`ll do

Summary:
The Developer - Intelligent Search (f/m/d) contributes to shaping the next level of SAP's AI Search service offering for multiple scenarios within the company. You will join a newly created team of motivated individuals in a well-established broader group of search experts.

The Role:

• Take part in a global, agile delivery team to create the next generation AI Search for critical SAP internal and external scenarios
• Develop state-of-the-art AI Search features using LLMs, semantic/classical/hybrid search scenarios, and other advanced algorithms to enhance information retrieval
• Design, implement, and enhance retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems
• Set up and configure search solutions based on LoB-specific requirements
• Optimize search result relevance by refining and enhancing our search algorithms

What you bring

We are looking for an innovative, self-driven team player to become an integral part of our development team:

• University Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar
• 3+ years of professional working experience in software development
• Hands-on experience in working with search applications such as OpenSearch / Elasticsearch, Coveo, or similar
• In-depth knowledge of search applications and state-of-the-art search features
• Extensive experience in Python, FastAPI, and LangChain
• Experience with Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript
• Hands-on experience building RAG systems
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker
• Passion, resilience under pressure, a high level of initiative, and dedication to taking responsibility and ensuring quality are essential
• Proficient in both German and English, with good communication skills

Meet your team

The Intelligent Search team, a part of the Corporate Processes & Information Technology (CPIT) organization within SAP, is on an exciting journey to develop, enhance, and operate the strategic Intelligent Search Service end-to-end. This includes the whole process from gathering content from various source systems through crawling, AI Search, and integration into consuming agentic AI or chat scenarios, websites, or platforms. As we drive the adoption of our service, we actively collaborate with various critical LoBs and teams within SAP. Our solutions are globally utilized by customers, partners, and employees.
The team consists of motivated individuals from various locations, primarily working out of the EMEA region.
