What You Build
As a Data Architect (f/m/d), the role leads and serves customer engagements to bring SAP's transformative frameworks for business data to life. The position reports to the EMEA Lob Head Data & AI and focuses on functional and technical leadership, collaboration, and customer success.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing innovative business data and analytics concepts, strategies, and solutions for clients in national and international contexts.
- Advising on the implementation and optimization of reporting and planning solutions with SAP Business Data Cloud, from requirements analysis and technical design to prototyping, proof of concept, and implementation.
- Transforming and modernizing existing reporting and planning systems and integrating BusinessAI with the required high-quality data.
- Supporting presales activities and taking responsibility for service delivery, programs, and projects.
- Deepening and expanding customer relationships through consulting and solution-oriented approaches in close collaboration with SAP Front Office and SAP Account Teams.
What You Bring
The role requires a strategic visionary and trusted advisor with deep expertise in Data & Analytics and data platform architectures, aligned with SAP's vision and cloud methodologies such as RISE and Clean Core. It also requires the ability to align technology and business strategies for impactful and measurable customer outcomes.
- 15+ years of experience in Data & Analytics architecture, business transformation, and implementation, with a track record of inspiring customers, driving collaboration, and delivering high-impact solutions.
- Proven delivery of large-scale Data & Analytics programs and projects in the SAP environment.
- Strong customer-centric and change-oriented mindset, with experience in large-scale transformations and change management for digital adoption and measurable value.
Must-Have Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of SAP's Data & Analytics portfolio, including SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud (Planning and Reporting), SAP Business Warehouse, S/4 Embedded Analytic, SAP BusinessAI, SAP RISE including Clean Core principles, and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
- Strong networking and strategic relationship-building skills within SAP and externally, including engagement with CIOs and CTOs.
- Proven success guiding impactful digital transformations and leading change management initiatives to support adoption.
- Strong ecosystem in the Data & Analytics space inside SAP and externally, including development, product management, sales, enterprise architecture, partners, and third-party vendors.
- Cross-industry expertise, with deep knowledge in at least one industry such as automotive, retail, manufacturing, or pharma to build relevant business data platform use cases.
- Basic understanding of SAP processes in finance, logistics, sales and distribution, material management, and related areas.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in German and English at C1 level.
Nice-to-Have Requirements
- Experience integrating AI and emerging technologies to drive transformation goals and improve customer adoption.
- S/4HANA and business transformation knowledge to identify optimization and innovation potential in customer engagements.
- Certifications related to SAP Data & Analytics products, such as SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud, or SAP HANA.
- Expertise in change management practices, with a history of driving engagement and organizational change.
- Relevant certifications such as SAP Certified Enterprise Architect, TOGAF, or similar, with recognition as a thought leader in enterprise architecture.
