What you'll build

Come join our Marketing Procurement team in SAP’s Global Procurement Organization (GPO). In this role, you will support global procurement initiatives across a diverse and strategically important Marketing spend portfolio, including Paid Media, Agencies, Demand Generation, Market Insights, Merchandise, and Communications.

As the Category Buyer for Marketing in EMEA, you will contribute to the execution of category strategies and help deliver measurable value while ensuring compliant and efficient procurement processes. Working closely with global Marketing stakeholders and the global category team, you will play a key role in translating business needs into effective sourcing activities and supplier engagements.

This role is well suited for professionals who enjoy working in dynamic, cross-functional environments and want to further develop their procurement expertise within Marketing categories.

What you'll do:

Sourcing Execution & Procurement Delivery

  • Manage end-to-end sourcing initiatives across EMEA, including eRFx processes, vendor selection, negotiations, and contracting
  • Support the execution of global category strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Contribute to delivering financial value and efficiency improvements across Marketing spend areas

Stakeholder Collaboration & Business Partnership

  • Partner closely with Marketing stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into clear sourcing strategies
  • Collaborate with the Global Category Manager to ensure consistency with global sourcing approaches and vendor strategies
  • Provide procurement guidance to stakeholders, supporting informed and compliant decision-making

Vendor Management & Market Insights

  • Manage vendor relationships across agencies, media partners, and insights providers in the region
  • Support supplier onboarding, performance tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to identify sourcing opportunities and inform procurement decisions

Process Excellence & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contracts, and Source-to-Pay processes
  • Support the standardization and continuous improvement of procurement processes and tools across the region
  • Maintain transparency and proper documentation across sourcing activities

Data, Tools & Performance Tracking

  • Leverage data, analytics, and procurement tools to support sourcing decisions and track performance
  • Support reporting on savings, supplier performance, and procurement KPIs

Sustainability (ESG) & Real-World Impact

  • Support the implementation of ESG strategies by integrating sustainability criteria into sourcing activities and supplier selection
  • Contribute to sustainability initiatives (e.g., CO₂ reduction, supplier transparency) and support related sourcing projects
  • Assist in tracking and reporting ESG performance in collaboration with relevant stakeholders

What you bring

Required experience & qualifications

  • 5+ years of procurement experience, ideally within Marketing Procurement or Indirect Spend
  • Experience in eSourcing and managing RFx processes, negotiations, and contract execution
  • Exposure to Marketing categories (Media, Agencies, or Market Insights) is a plus
  • Understanding of vendor landscapes and commercial models within Marketing services
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across functions, regional/global teams
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data for decision-making and performance tracking
  • Experience working with procurement tools, data analytics, or digital solutions
  • Interest in learning and applying AI-enabled tools in procurement
  • University degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, Communications or a related field.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken; additional languages are a plus.
