About Role

We are looking for an experienced SAP Basis Consultant with a passion for innovation to manage critical internal landscapes while simultaneously driving the automation of our service delivery. In this hybrid role, you will act as a bridge between classic landscape maintenance and modern cloud automation.

Your core operational responsibility focuses on the end-to-end stability of our internal SAP environments. This includes the GLDS management and coordination for an S/4 HANA system and the associated Cloud Connector. You will perform hands-on SAP Basis support for these systems, specifically covering technical tasks and troubleshooting areas. Furthermore, you will provide dedicated SAP BTP Basis Support (including the BTP ABAP environment) for our BTP landscapes, and manage access governance via Profile and Roles management for these environments.

Beyond operations, you will use your deep understanding of these landscapes to transform how we deliver services. You will actively identify repetitive Basis tasks and "toil" within the CAS delivery scope and automate them using SAP Build Process Automation and other SAP BTP services. You will not just resolve incidents; you will design the workflows that resolve them automatically in the future.

What you'll do

  • Landscape Management: Coordinate GLDS activities and provide supplementary Basis support for S/4HANA systems and Cloud Connectors to ensure seamless availability.
  • BTP Operations: Manage the BTP landscapes with a focus on SAP BTP Basis topics and the BTP ABAP environment.
  • Security & Access: Handle Profile and Role management for our internal environments.
  • Automation Development: Design and implement automated workflows for standard Basis tasks (e.g., user onboarding, system monitoring, health checks) using SAP Build Process Automation.
  • Process Optimization: Analyze ticket data from CAS delivery to identify high-volume incidents suitable for automation.
  • Technical Advisory: Act as a consultant for internal teams on how to leverage BTP for operational efficiency.
  • Documentation: Maintain technical documentation for the specific landscapes and create guides for the developed automation solutions.

What you bring

  • SAP Basis Core: 10+ years of strong hands-on SAP Basis experience (S/4HANA, HANA DB, Web Dispatcher, Cloud Connector)
  • SAP BTP Expertise: Proven experience with SAP Business Technology Platform services, including SAP Build Process Automation and SAP Integration Suite.
  • Scripting & Coding: Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, PowerShell) and familiarity with REST APIs/JSON handling.
  • Automation Tooling: Experience with configuration management and orchestration tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) is highly desirable.
  • Cloud ALM / Focus RUN: Sound understanding of SAP Cloud ALM and Focused Run (FRUN), specifically regarding API integration for ticketing and monitoring.
  • Architecture: Good background in hybrid cloud architecture and security standards (OAuth, mTLS).
  • Mindset: An "Automation First" mentality—you are uncomfortable performing the same task manually more than twice.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain complex automation concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

Preferred / Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of SAP Landscape Management (LaMa).
  • Experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) in an SAP context.
  • Certification in SAP BTP or SAP System Administration.
