SAP Document AI Team is hiring a full-stack cloud developer to build a cloud-native, AI-powered document processing service on SAP Business Technology Platform, working with an international team across India, Germany, and Singapore. The role is ideal for an early-career engineer with strong fundamentals, hands-on web and cloud skills, and a passion for generative AI and intelligent document processing.

Who we are


SAP Document AI Team is one of the key contributors to the AI Services LOB in the AI Product Engineering organisation in the OCEO Board Area, which is responsible for building scalable, reusable, state-of-the-art AI technologies for SAP customers and partners.
AI Services automate and optimise enterprise processes by adding intelligence to applications using AI models pre-trained on business-relevant data and delivered on SAP Business Technology Platform.

What you will do

• Implement and manage a cloud service for machine learning and generative-AI–based document processing solution running on SAP BTP.
• Refine backlog items, design and develop full-stack features using CAP Java, OData APIs, microservices, and build modern web UIs using SAP UI5/Fiori.
• Collaborate daily with an international team of developers, ML engineers, and architects across India, Germany, and Singapore to deliver high-quality, secure, and scalable services.
• Continuously improve performance, reliability, and developer experience through code reviews, test automation, and agile practices (Scrum, CI/CD and SAFe framework ).

What you bring

Technical skills


• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• 2-4 years of software development experience, preferably in AI-focused or data-intensive cloud applications.
• Strong computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, object-oriented programming, design patterns, and clean software design principles.
• Hands-on experience with at least one of: Python, CAP Java, and familiarity with common frameworks such as Flask, Spring, Play, or React.
• Knowledge of UI development skills with JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, and some experience with SAP UI5/Fiori or similar component-based frameworks is a plus.
• Understanding of UI design patterns and interaction principles for building intuitive enterprise applications.
• Fundamental knowledge of containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud-native microservice architectures.
• Experience designing and implementing ODATA APIs or RESTful APIs; exposure to SAP BTP, Cloud Foundry, or open-source cloud frameworks (for example, OpenStack, Cloud Foundry) is a strong plus.
• Nice to have: Experience with intelligent document processing, LLMs, or SAP Document AI–style solutions.
