What you’ll build We are looking for an (Associate) DevOps Engineer (f/m/d) to drive operations for SAP's AI Business services (Business Agent Framework, Joule, Document AI, etc.). This job offers an opportunity to work across development stacks, technologies, and cloud profiles. As part of the AI Cloud Operations Cross EU team, you will be working with development teams, security, and quality teams to ensure that SAP Business services meet the aspired and contractual SLAs and cloud quality standards. Your tasks include to:

  • Update/upgrade, manage, operate, and monitor cloud-native applications (BTP Cloud Foundry, Kyma, and/or Gardener Applications).
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure seamless integration between infrastructure and application code.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of automation and infrastructure practices.
  • On-call duty: As part of the "you built it, you run it" culture, you will be responsible for maintaining the infrastructure you help design and build. This includes being available for on-call rotations to troubleshoot and resolve production issues as needed.

What you bring

  • 2+ years’ experience in Software development and/or cloud operations/DevOps.
  • Hands-on experience in production (administration and/or troubleshooting) with at least one of BTP runtimes (Cloud Foundry, Kyma, or Gardener).
  • Understanding of automation tools like Terraform or Helm.
  • Experience building Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab, ArgoCD, Jenkins, or DwC.
  • Leverage scripting languages such as Bash, Python, GO, or similar to automate repetitive tasks and improve workflows.
  • Fluent English language skills, spoken and written; German language skills are beneficial.

Beneficial

  • Knowledge of observability solutions, e.g., Dynatrace.
  • Understanding of SAP best practices of resiliency (Backup Restore, High Availability, and/or Disaster Recovery).
  • Experience in working on one of the Hyperscalers. A certificate is a plus!
