Job Description

We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

About the Team

Within the Cloud Lifecycle Engineering and AIOps (CLEO) organization of Global Cloud Operations (GCO), the Core AI Team—at the heart of the AI Foundation Team—drives the vision of an AI-powered autonomous enterprise, redefining how operations are designed, executed, and continuously optimized at scale. As a strategic cornerstone, the team embeds intelligent, self-learning capabilities into core processes, enabling adaptive, self-healing, and increasingly autonomous operations.

With a bold mandate to transform GCO through advanced artificial intelligence and data management, the AI Foundation Team builds resilient, enterprise-grade AI foundations powered by best-in-class machine learning. By working across all GCO organizations, we accelerate the evolution from reactive to predictive and ultimately autonomous operations—delivering real-time intelligence, seamless automation, and sustained operational excellence.

Summary:

We are seeking a Project Manager to lead the coordination, planning, and execution of strategic initiatives that advance the organization’s artificial intelligence capabilities and research priorities. This role serves as a critical bridge between technical teams, leadership, and key stakeholders, ensuring the successful delivery of AI-driven programs aligned with the organization’s vision and mission.

What you'll do:

Project Manager Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of project methodologies, frameworks, standards, and governance for the AI Core Team, with an emphasis on simplification and scalability.
  • Partner with peer Project Managers to identify synergies, align priorities, and optimize resource allocation across the organization.
  • Support architects in driving project execution by tracking progress against approved plans, ensuring milestones, timelines, and deliverables are met for downstream validation.
  • Manage the end-to-end project lifecycle, ensuring delivery within defined scope, timeline, and quality standards, while proactively mitigating risks.
  • Deliver key outcomes defined by the AI community, including value assessments, security approvals, and AI registry readiness.
  • Coordinate cross-team initiatives, including collaboration with hyperscalers and strategic partners, as well as governance frameworks, agent-building rollouts, and enablement resources (e.g., runbooks).
  • Drive execution by managing tasks, maintaining timelines, engaging stakeholders, and ensuring alignment for successful delivery.
  • Facilitate ongoing field enablement, awareness, and adoption initiatives to promote AI capabilities and drive consistent usage across the organization.

Program Coordinator Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain quarterly and annual roadmaps, ensuring alignment with GCO teams, hyperscalers, and strategic partners.
  • Integrate key deliverables (e.g., governance frameworks, agent toolkits, and related initiatives) into planning cycles.
  • Monitor project health through status tracking, risk identification, and regular reporting to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Conduct quality reviews to ensure adherence to established methodologies, standards, and documentation requirements—especially for high-risk or escalated projects.
  • Facilitate steering committee meetings and leadership reviews, providing clear updates on progress, risks, and key decisions

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 5+ years of professional experience.
  • 3–5+ years of project or portfolio management experience, preferably within the IT or cloud industry.
  • Proven experience driving AI initiatives, including adoption, enablement, and scaling of AI-powered solutions across organizations (required).
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, Kanban), tools, and best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with project management tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • Demonstrated ability to define, create, and maintain key project artifacts (e.g., project charters, schedules, status reports, and meeting documentation).
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering projects by effectively managing scope, risks, issues, timelines, and quality.
  • Experience coordinating multiple concurrent projects and balancing competing priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively in global, virtual teams across diverse cultures and time zones.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with confidence in engaging and coordinating across distributed teams.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with a team-oriented and empathetic approach.
  • Highly self-motivated, organized, and accountable, with the ability to operate independently and take ownership of outcomes.

Good to Have, but not required:

  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with the SAP ecosystem, including internal processes and organizational structure.
  • Understanding of SAP’s product, technology, and services portfolio.
  • Exposure to or hands-on experience with AI agent development frameworks and emerging AI technologies.
  • Experience working with one or more public cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform).
