Job Description
We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.
What you’ll build
The Academy for CPIT is a 12-month full-time paid rotational program with international virtual rotations, designed for high-performing graduates or young professionals with up to three years of work experience. As an early career talent, you will help in executing and rethinking internal processes, strategies, and systems – with AI at the center of how we work and what we build.
Our CPIT employees of the future blend deep expertise with advanced technical fluency and a strong AI adoption mindset. We don't just talk about AI – we use it every day to write better code faster, build smarter tools, and automate what used to take hours. Our rotational program welcomes candidates who are already comfortable working this way and eager to go further.
As an Associate in the Academy for CPIT, you will participate in three virtual rotations in different focus areas, such as:
- AI, Platforms & Data: this unit is leading SAP's Enterprise AI and Data mission, strongly supported by Northstar Enterprise Architecture and platform capabilities, and supports SAP's AI-first strategy and technology foundations.
- Corporate Functions & Analytics: supports SAP's data-driven cloud and AI transformation.
- Customer & Partner: this unit is helping transform SAP via a customer-centric cloud operating model.
- Product Processes & Solutions: ensures excellence in product-related processes and IT delivery along the Innovate-to-Operate lifecycle.
Join an international peer group based in Prague, Budapest, and Sofia!
What you bring
- Bachelor's or master's degree in a technical/business informatic field or similar (technical orientation is a must), with at least some work experience (e.g. an internship).
- You think in terms of products and journeys: you like mapping user needs, defining success metrics, and iterating based on feedback and data.
- You have hands‑on experience with data – from cleaning and exploring datasets to drawing insights using tools such as pandas, SQL or similar – and you are not afraid of messy, real‑world data.
- You enjoy working in cross‑functional teams with designers, engineers, and business stakeholders, and you can translate between technical and non‑technical perspectives.
- You like taking end‑to‑end ownership of small problems: understanding the context, sketching a solution, receiving feedback, and iterating quickly.
- AI-assisted development: you have practical, hands-on experience using AI coding tools – such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar – as part of a real development workflow. This means prompting effectively, reviewing AI-generated code critically, and knowing when to trust, refine, or override suggestions. We expect this to already be part of how you work, not something you plan to try.
- AI application development: you have basic familiarity with building AI-powered features. This includes calling LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, SAP AI Core, or similar), writing and iterating on prompts, and understanding foundational concepts such as tokens, context windows, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or embedding-based search. Hands-on experience – even a small project like a chatbot, summarization tool, or classification pipeline – is a strong signal we look for.
- You are comfortable coding in at least one modern language (ideally Python) and have completed projects or coursework in data science, machine learning, or statistics.
- You have basic familiarity with modern AI/ML tools and concepts (for example supervised learning, neural networks, LLMs, vector databases, or MLOps frameworks) and are eager to deepen this in real enterprise use cases.
- You are curious about how AI is applied at scale in industry – from customer‑facing products to internal platforms – and you want to see prototypes move into production, not stay in a slide deck.
- You communicate complex ideas in simple terms and can collaborate with international and virtual teams using strong English language skills.
Where you belong
- Work for the market leader in enterprise application software and be part of a company that values curiosity, flexibility, learning agility, and diversity.
- Build real AI skills – not just familiarity – in an environment where AI is a first-class part of daily work.
- Immediate participation as a functioning team member and engagement with different teams while progressing through three different rotations.
- On-the-job training supported by experienced high-level managers and colleagues in an international, collaborative environment.
- Formal learning and development opportunities to gain a combination of foundational hard skills and soft skills, in addition to job-specific skills.
The Academy for CPIT is part of SAP Next Gen – our global experience for students, recent graduates, and early career professionals. Being a part of SAP Next Gen provides a supportive community, tailored development, and the ability to be involved in high-impact projects.
