3–4 days/week at home
Fully flexible hours

Job Description
We are looking for systems engineers for our Technology Operations - Change team. You will work alongside our architects, project managers and other engineers to research, design and deliver technology solutions. These will range from a new business application (CRM, finance) to deploying new hardware.
What’s the role about?
As an engineer in our Technology Operations - Change team, you will take on a variety of tasks, from designing and planning solutions to meet user requirements through to managing software and hardware rollouts and documentation. You will also work as part of a larger team to bring organisation wide projects to completion.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are important in this role as you work with a range of technical and non-technical audiences. The ability to gather and analyse requirements is key as you work to select appropriate solutions and then go onto deliver them.
You will have a good breadth of knowledge as you will work across a very wide range of technologies. You will often find yourself learning something completely different, so a positive approach to the unknown is welcome.
You will work alongside colleagues in the run team to ensure solutions are delivered into operational support smoothly and assist them with your expertise on the tactical demands for resolving incidents and problems.
Above all else, you’ll be an advocate for saving nature. Nature is in big trouble – the climate crisis and loss of habitat are pushing some of our best loved species towards extinction. We won’t let nature fall silent. This role is your chance to make real change possible.
Essential skills and expertise required in the role:
- Experience of planning, implementing and supporting IT systems in a Microsoft client/server environment
- Ability to interpret service requirements from what may be non-technical user specifications
- Ability to contribute to the development of a knowledge base and document best practices
- Good communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience of working on projects, either leading small deliveries or as a member of a larger team
- Ability to plan and progress work activities under your own initiative
- Experience of implementing business systems and applications
- Experience of transitioning work into operational support
- Experience with Azure technologies
- Experience of infrastructure technologies (Windows Server, VMWare, Aruba networking)
This is a Permanent, Full-Time role. We are looking to conduct interviews for this position from 3rd April 2023. For further information please contact peter.welch@rspb.org.uk
As part of this application you will be asked to provide a copy of your CV and complete a short form. If you wish to provide a cover letter with your application, please include this at the end of your CV document upload.
