Project Officer - Lough Erne Landscape Partnership (Fixed Term)

Job Description

We are looking for a Project Officer to join our dynamic, inspiring and energetic Lough Erne Landscape Partnership (LELP) team, based in Enniskillen. The LELP is focussing on the conservation and promotion of Lough Erne’s landscape character and unique heritage. More information can be found at: www.lelp.org.uk

The successful candidate will work closely with local project partners, taking the lead on delivering a suite of projects as well as working with the Programme Manager (PM) to undertake project evaluations.

The LELP is now within the last 18 months of funding provided by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The LELP team is currently delivering 43 projects, your role will be to support the Programme Manager with managing and delivering a suite of projects, as well as working with other project leads to undertake final project evaluations, identifying project legacy plans.

You will be required to work flexibly, with some weekend work involved. You will have the option of working flexibility from home or from our office (Enniskillen). You will be required to travel to project sites.

The key focus of the role will be to successfully delivery of a suite of projects, working with various project partners to track, monitor and deliver projects on time and on budget whilst meeting project outputs. You will work closely with the PM and others to undertake project evaluations and identify project legacy plans. Other key result areas are included in the attached Job Description.

What we need from you: Someone who is highly organised, self-motivated, has excellent attention to detail, and good communication skills. The role will involve working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to deliver successful projects. You will be required to demonstrate experience of delivering projects (and grant funding applications) as well as undertaking successful project evaluations.

A fixed term contract, 37.5 hours per week, for 12 months with a possibility to be extended. Applications for part time/flexi-time working will be considered.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Competent IT user (e.g. MS packages, Outlook etc).
  • Ability to produce clear written communications.
  • Ability to persuade and influence a wide range of people, internally and externally.
  • Excellent problem solving skills, finding creative solutions.
  • Able to work under pressure, adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Ability to work well as part of a cross-functional project team.


Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Organising events, workshops or facilitated discussions and meetings.
  • Experience of producing written materials, newsletters and similar project related communication.
  • Experience of developing and working in partnership, achieving shared outcomes.


The RSPB reserves the right to extend or make this role permanent without further advertising dependent on business needs at the end of the contract term.
