The Visitor Centre, gateway to the Newport Wetlands National Nature Reserve, is a great place to visit year-round and worth a trip whatever the weather. Visitors enjoy food made with the best of local ingredients, sourced from local producers wherever possible.

Our café is not just about serving great food and giving first class service - it’s about saving wildlife too by directly contributing to the charity’s objectives through the income you help generate in the café.

You will be motivated and a customer-pleaser, being a forward-thinking team player, who leads by example, delighting every customer. You will work with the site's Catering Manager and the Assistant Catering Manager to help run the Coffee Shop.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Maintaining the highest standards of customer service
  • Enjoy working as part of a supportive and positive team
  • Able to communicate effectively & manage and respond quickly and positively to customer needs and feedback
  • Confident in the use of till systems and payment processes
  • Keen to learn new skills and undertake training
  • Able to demonstrate a clear understanding of food hygiene
  • Able to work on own initiative and under pressure

Desirable qualifications:

  • An intermediate food hygiene certificate level 2, although training will be given.
