Job Description

We seek someone to lead and develop a mixed team of paid staff and volunteers to deliver an exceptional and profitable events programme.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Visitor Operations Manager to develop an annual events programme and ensure smooth day-to-day delivery of all events, activities and volunteer-led educational visits.RSPB Arne is a flagship reserve and offers a huge opportunity to engage people and to gain their vital support which is much needed to continue and grow the conservation work of the RSPB. This post will allow you to make a big impact on nature conservation by both raising awareness of current conservation issues and by generating income for the RSPB

About RSPB Arne

RSPB Arne is a beautiful site consisting of a patchwork of habitats. Although famous for its dry and wet lowland heath you can also find ancient oak woodland, farmland, reedbed, mudflats, scrub, wet woodland, acid grassland and even sandy beaches. Spanning over 600 hectares, this mix of habitats is one of the reasons that Arne is home to such a huge variety of species. The lowland heathland offers homes for reptiles and rare insects and Arne remains one of the few places in the UK where all six of the UK's native reptiles can be found. It is a stunning place in Poole Harbour and within the Dorset Area of Natural Beauty.

What we need from you:

• Ability to organise and deliver high-quality, profitable public events and activities
• Able to use Microsoft Office suite, facebook and twitter
• Able to manage workload and deliver and against KPIs
• Able to maintain standards and consistency in excellent service delivery at all times
• manage time effectively
• Good problem-solving skills
• Ablke to lead, motivate and inspire others
• Able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines while progressing a range of priorities simultaneously
• Able to build and maintain strong working relationships with all stakeholders
• Able to deliver a profitable events and activities programme that considers equality, diversity and inclusion

Desirable:

• Experience working with a range of stakeholders
• Working with volunteers
• An understanding of brand and the importance of brand led activities in a large organisation
• Experience delivering visitor events in a nature reserve or similar
• Be a car driver with a current license and access to a vehicle

Additional Information

This is a part-time role for 30 hours per week. This will include some weekends, evenings, early, and Bank Holidays. The hours can be spread across 5 days or 4 days. Some hybrid working is possible, which will be discussed with the right candidate. We reserve the right to extend/make it permanent at any time.
