Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and talented 'Digital Delivery Manager' to innovate our content delivery through our website and email communications.

As we migrate towards a more personalised experience for users through our digital platforms, the ideal candidate will work closely with our digital and communications teams to champion user insight and make sure the online experience of audiences leads to impactful action for nature.

Responsible for the daily workflow of a team of content managers and executives, you will guide a centre of excellence to key stakeholders and devolved website authors to ensure consistent branded content delivery. With an eye for detail and a passion for producing engaging and informative content you will know what resonates with audiences and drives growth.

The content team is a strategic and delivery partner to the organisation within the digital technology and communications directorate. Your teammates will be experts in creative, social media, strategy, planning, traffic management and UXD and as a team player, you will work collaboratively to deliver outstanding content.

The way many of us live our lives, is disrupting the delicate balance of nature over millions of years. Deforestation, overfishing, intensive farming methods, increased pollution and our burning of fossil fuels are just some of the ways we are destroying biodiversity both here in the UK and around the globe. While some species are able to adapt, others are struggling, with some on the verge of extinction. In this role it is essential that you are a passionate advocate for nature and understand why we urgently need to come together to save it.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team. Manage team workflow to maintain outstanding quality of content across channels is delivery on time. Sourcing and managing freelance talent as required.
  • Editorial direction. Lead curation of the themes and content curation across our webpages and news section. Optimising trending themes with which to peak audience engagement.
  • Creative collaboration. You will be an expert on what's going on in digital and seek opportunities to bring innovative creative into our online platform, working with strategic product owners and creative partners to do so.
  • Audience led insight. Working with digital partners to analyse data and learn how users interact with the site and identify content gaps in user experience.
  • Performance tracking. Assess how successful our content performance is against channel benchmarks and audit content performance for insight driven updates.
  • Always-on content strategy. Lead the website strategy for always on content hubs, ensuring web pages are kept up-to-date and and team are optimising channels.
  • Channel planning. Maintain up to date weekly channel plans that respond to content pillars.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience

  • Strategy. You will strategically plan and have proven experience of longer term campaign projects which have been successful.
  • Digital knowledge. You understand what makes great digital content and will have previous experience working with headless CMS systems
  • Creativity. A lot of this job is coming up with great ideas and getting people behind them. You'll have bags of great creative ideas and won't be scared to share them.
  • Communication. You can deliver a complex idea in a simple way and have a knack of getting people to listen when you talk. You know how to build an impactful presentation that can sell a complex idea in just a few slides.
  • Relationship building. To get things done at the RSPB you need to be able to work with other people and teams. You'll have excellent people skills and know how to influence and inspire others to your way of thinking.

This is a Permanent Full-Time role for 37 hours per week. Role can be performed at home but during the hours of 9 to 5.
